The location is great. The food is out of proportion to the price. There is no ice cream in the aperitifs, the salad dressing tastes the same as at Migros. The Rösti tastes like rancid butter. Vanilla sauce from the package. At Migros prices I would say ok.
Very special place... in a positive sense : The restaurant has many different rooms and niches. The passageways are sometimes very low... too low that you can accidentally bump into yourself because the upper door frame is at eye level... or even below : The food is excellent. The service was very friendly. The grappa selection is large.
Unfortunately a disappointment, both in terms of service and food. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost half an hour for our table. I worked in the catering industry myself, and guests forgive a lot if they are followed by at least an apology or a little something offered. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. At least our waitress at the table was friendly. It's great that there are vegan options on the menu, but unfortunately the dish was bland and dry. I've eaten better in canteens. It's a shame because the atmosphere is nice.
Rustic atmosphere. Local specialties, and great wine list. Very friendly waiters with a lot of Italianita.

If you are bothered by a service at the limit of rudeness, of the unjustifiably high prices it is better to avoid this place than two years ago it was very nice
We'll be back to the docks after years and it looks like the management has changed. not the quality: the dishes of the Engadian tradition are prepared with care and the service is very friendly.
Meats as a starter, of excellent quality. meat skewer as second, really very good. the restaurant is very nice, typical engadinian, there is a lot and people and was full zeppo. we say that prices are a bit above the average of the area....other restaurants offer the same quality at a little lower prices, however a good restaurant.
We were very disappointed with this food. the service staff has made incorrect information to the appetizer and to the main course. we had the impression that they did not really understand German. It started with old, small, dried remaining pieces that were tabled. the wrong appetizer was taken back, but on the bill still at the proud price of fr. 23.- charged for a small tomate with mozzarella without sauce. to the main course we had trout and zanderfilet, which unfortunately was only skin with 3 forks full fish. the supplement was so small that it went through as a child portion. everything fade in the taste and that at the proud price of fr. 43.- atmosphere very impersonal and cold.

When we walked into the restaurant, we were amazed by all the relics from the older times. The food and service were amazing. The owner even gave us a tour along with a history lesson. This is a must when you are in SWITZERLAND.
We had a dinner reservation at 9pm and we had to wait one hour standing and another hour at the table to get some food. At the end it became a joke as there where so many empty tables and we were still waiting. Food is not incredible, only the place is nice. I am very sorry to write a bad review but being an Engadin lover I really don't think that this type of service should be present in this stunning area.
As most have noted, the setting in the former stall is very nice. Unfortunately that was the best part. Our food came very quickly which was a bit of a red flag. Each dish seemed to have been composed of prepared elements and then reheated. My roesti was still cold and the potatoes were not bound together as with good traditional roesti. The service was also rather unorganized. At one point one of the servers came over and gave us some drop stoppers (we didn’t have a bottle of wine) and asked us if we’d like to order some food we’d already eaten. Overall a disappointing experience which was not comparable to those we’ve had in the past.
This former barn turned restaurant has an immense amount of charm and character. And it is also a perfect spot to try local Engadiner specialties, like the Zuozer krautpizokels, a gnocchi-style dish with cabbage and bacon. It sounds heavier than it actually is and they also serve it in a smaller portion. If the weather allows, best to sit on the huge terrace in front of the restaurant and enjoy the view of the surrounding beautiful mountains.

Unfortunately very disappointing! We expected something different from this restaurant. We had the veal slices with hash browns twice. The hash brown was dry, had an odd taste, the veggies just pulled out of the water.....everything was bland and lacked flavor. Missing decoration on the plate. Value for money not met. We had a good meal there 2 years ago.
Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CHF 40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Käsefondue
Absolutely perfect meal of traditional Engadine dishes try the Zuozer Hay Soup (yes, it is actual soup of hay) which was delicious, fragrant and a new experience! The rosti was also amazing, even the standard kids meals were beautifully cooked. The service was excellent, our waiter went to extra trouble to entertain the kids with magic tricks and a secret door with a slide down to the cellar! The building has a fascinating history too we felt like we had learned a lot about the history of Zuoz and the Engadine. Prices are as expected for the area but worth every penny. Kid friendliness: Really well set up and waiter was also a great entertainer of the kids! Parking: Plenty of spaces outside along the road.
