The food was excellent—we shared the Tipsy Texan burrito and the Sugar Shack quesadilla. The outdoor seating area was pleasant, and it was great that dogs are allowed. We had to wait about 35 minutes, but the texting feature was helpful, as it allowed us to see our place in line and the estimated wait time in real time. Poor experience. Arrived and was told 20 minute wait- they said they just needed to finish cleaning some tables (multiple tables were open) and we would be seated. Multiple groups passed up our party of 2 in line. After 30 minutes we were told 25 more minutes. Mistakes happen no big deal but we had a sitter and a time limit. We ordered takeout because we needed to get back home to the kids- takeout order took 40 more minutes. Food was mediocre. My “well” burger was medium at best, very pink. Also had two strawberry margaritas which were basically just ice, and watered down tequila. Large queso was not the best, very “gritty” but perhaps some like it that way? For $80 for two people I would expect more. Even after waiting for takeout groups came in, we’re seated, and had food before our takeout order was done. I’m sure a second trip would turn out better but likely not risking it.
Five star experience! First time at the Salty Cowboy, meeting friends for dinner. Food was great, service was great and atmosphere perfect (we ate at a table outside and it was nice and very peaceful. No traffic noise that I can remember! . Will definitely be back again soon! We only had cocktails at the bar. Shelby is an amazing bar tender. She made our first time here fun. Tasty cocktails and a shot of premium tequila were for us.
