Yzer Bru - Yzerfontein
Yzer Bru
Description
Nestled on the West Coast, this intimate brewpub pairs house-brewed beers with carefully prepared bar fare — standout pizzas, steak and memorable lamb — served in a warmly decorated, family-friendly space where the owner mingles and board games (and Legos for kids) keep guests entertained. Service is often friendly and personal and the food earns praise; however, expect a small kitchen’s slower pace and occasional service or quality lapses reported by some diners.

During our weekend trip to Yzerfontein, we found ourselves returning to Yzer Bru twice. The beer is outstanding, the food is amazing, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The beer is made in true microbrewery fashion, and it’s not available in stores, so if you want to try it, you’ll have to stop by! The food is fantastic as well. The pizzas feature a super thin crust with plenty of toppings, but the real star of the show was the burger: homemade patties grilled to juicy perfection on a soft bun, loaded with pickles and some delicious sauce.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. Their beers are excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the Ale. The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting, and the decor is lovely. They offer the usual bar fare like nachos and pizzas, but the chef’s special was a standout. We tried the lamb, and it was exceptional.
This restaurant is amazing! The ambiance is laid-back and welcoming, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. They are well-informed and genuinely dedicated to ensuring that customers are happy. The food is excellent, offering a mix of traditional dishes and some inventive variations, all at a price that is absolutely reasonable. Thank you, Derrick and Antoinette! Keep up the fantastic work!
The service was outstanding, and the ambiance was incredible. It had a great vibe and definitely deserved a five-star rating!
I ordered two FAB pizzas and, when they arrived, both had spoiled and brown avocado on them. I called the restaurant to raise my concern, but the manager interrupted me and refused to listen to my complaint, insisting it was impossible for them to have served bad avocado, despite the photos I had sent. I'm very disappointed, especially since I had just dined there for lunch earlier that day and have always been a loyal supporter of Yzer Bru. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with a sour impression, and I can no longer recommend this place or continue to support them.
