large eating and highest beer brewed by the owner. a few minutes walk from the metro station meguro. it is a pub, better still, a tavern where you can drink and eat. no sophisticated restaurant. if they are in the opposite, their taste buds will appreciate them stop over. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Tavern English Pub:
Nice place, bar tenders understand English. Great vibe, casual. It's not a place you go to dance it's more like a place for conversations. There was a mix of both locals and foreigners. Drinks range from ¥850 to ¥1100 (subject to change). Drinks include cocktails, shots draft beers. There is a menu in Japanese and English which was helpful. Fairly easy to locate as there is a British flag hoisted outside. You have to... View all feedback.
1000 yen steak night! Or so I thought, not sure why I expected better but yeah it was at best a 1000 yen steak... Service was also fairly bad by Tokyo standards, was served by a non-Japanese speaking non-native English speaker, found myself using exaggerated hand gestures to get my order in and SHE was the once that got frustrated. When I pointed out that she had short changed me, she got very pissy, I had to call over another member of the staff to get my change. But naturally the beer was good.
Dry, gross Shepherd 's Pie, worst I 've had out of several pubs in the area. Craft Beer without character, not worth the price. Staff is not very friendly, though not outright nasty. Best to find another place unless you just have to be in Meguro.
Great British style pub with real happy hour specials and their four own craftsmen beer. Great beer and fine British pub classics, from the torte to the bangers. the personal is bilingual and the service is friendly and welcoming.
Only place where I found that does a decent ish carvery for when they long for home. good choice. a bit grimey, but just like a pub would be at home:d
