beautiful place to have a seafood buffet, a large oyster and a big tiger car. However, if they do not like seafood, the selection of hot foods is quite limited. Dessert selection is ok also the price in opentable is outdated. the right price for the weekend dinner buffet is $105 instead of $78. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Promenade Café Hyatt Canberra:
it was a very bad seafood buffet. there was no smoked salmon. most of the time the plates were empty and to make extra trips. I have not seen a place for pasta or suppe and it should have been in the hot buffet tea dishes. I was very disappointed. we sat in the opposite area of the restaurant directly at the back. it was cold and we wore our hunting the most time we were there. I've been to the seafood buffet before... We were thrilled by the variety of dishes that were part of the buffet, especially the seafood. all buffet tables were arranged in a tempting manner. as we have been here many times before, we usually get an excellent service, but it seemed as if they were short-circuited at that time. we were looking forward to a pleasant culinary experience as it was a birthday party, but we had to hunt our desires for water and drinks. used plates began to climb on the table as they were not taken away in time. we were not supplied with an ice cup for the wine bottle. we could have stayed a little longer for coffee, but we called it earlier.
Seafood buffet dinner $90 per person. My wife and me expected something really nice, it 's Hyatt at the end , isn 't it? But noooo. It was terrible. Seafood section was : over salted cooked prawns which were nice size if nothing else , octopus salad with no chance to find octopus in there , miniature oysters with half of the shells empty , something that should be salmon and looks terrible and also small cooked but very dry mussels. That 's about it regarding seafood buffet selection. There was 5 type of food in the hot food section including roast potato and plain boiled rice. Two type of roast , beef was not so bad but lamb was so undercooked that I thought it will jump of the table and start running around . Terrible experience! Never again !
As separately advised the Promonade was closed but we were able to eat elsewhere in the hotel.
Restaurant was closed we were relocated to the tea Lounge. Service was terrible , overpriced cafe food
Have had previous enjoyable dining experiences at the seafood buffet, but last night both my partner and I were violently ill from the food. My partner was sick in the bathroom before we had finished our desert and myself when I returned home.
