Was Anonym at Chows Table a mag?
We had a wonderful dining experience! The wild boar, squid, and dumplings were standout dishes. Everything was delicious and expertly prepared. We also appreciated the waiter's recommendations. The restaurant has a spacious and inviting atmosphere, making it a lovely environment for families, including ours, as well as some fine diners. We ordered from the lunch menu, which offered a good selection. There’s a playgro... View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Chows Table:
This meal was horrendous! Young people, take note: run far away from this place. We paid $150 per person for a total of seven of us, and honestly, we would have been better off going to McDonald's. Not that I typically eat fast food, but even their offerings are a huge step up from this restaurant. The fish was served cold and lacked any flavor, likely because it was frozen. The meat dish was so unappetizing that it wasn't fit for my dog. I often pay top dollar for great meals throughout Australia, but this was a complete disaster! I was furious! I called American Express Centurion to report this place and demand my money back.

This is about an excuse to not mention how big chows table is for high times! I was mc at the high time of my neffen on 5th nov. great eating, service, atmosphere all about chows is sensational. thanks by tante maggie!

Had lunch here with my wife who is Asian. There were some really great things about this place, but there was definitely some more room for improvement. Just some minor tweaking and the menu could be much better. Also I couldn’t fault the service, the staff were great. Entrees Squid toast awesome Tofu awesome Dumplings sauce was awesome, dumplings were bland Mains Roast duck was cooked really well but lacked seasoning. It was disappointing as it looked so good. It was basically like a really good roast duck in oil and soy. Couldn’t taste any traditional stuff like 5 spice. No sweetness. Needed way more depth of flavour but that could be fixed so easily. Prawn in Laksa the Laksa was not great. Didn’t even taste like a laksa. The prawns seemed nice and fresh, but lacked seasoning and paired with the soup was pretty average Sweet and Sour Chicken soggy, oily chossie. The place has an amazing setting and great potential. Some of the technique was done so well but some basic flavour and seasoning let’s it down. Would pass as a local take away but not an up market set menu.

Chow’s Table. Owned by Head Chef Mal Chow, it is an acclaimed restaurant with innovative modern Chinese fusion interpretation of classic Asian dishes. Located near House of Cards and Gabriel Chocolate (tip, do a chocolate tasting before your meal), Chow’s table has a welcoming, well lit ambience. Service is prompt, friendly. The dishes are designed to be shared. Which is the way many Asian diners would have their meals. You order 3 small entree and 3 mains out of the list for the whole table. There is no option to split the order(s) to try everything on the menu, although you can add additional dishes if you need to. Can’t decide what to order? Ask your waitress. They’re very familiar with the menu. Or check out their instagram for inspiration. The squid toast is a highlight. Crisp, yet not oily. A crunchy morsel of sesame, seafood filling and toast. One of the best we have had. Steak tartare was also perfectly done. Fresh and everything just perfect together. French yet instead of bread, there is a Chinese doughnut that works surprisingly well. Radish cake was crisp on the outside, gooey on the inside. The home chef in me prefers less flour and more radish but that is perhaps a subjective matter. It goes without saying that Entree was a highlight. Dishes are however, small. Mains. There is a bowl of fluffy, white rice to share. So you won’t be hungry. The Ma Po tofu. It’s a huge bowl. The tofu is made locally and so very melt in your mouth. Almost to-fu fa in consistency. The Schezuan peppercorn however gives it a kick. If you’re not familiar with this, you have been warned. Prawn laksa. A light, almost tempura batter with a large, single prawn. But please de-vein them in the future! Why go to the effect of removing half the shell (head/tail are intact) and not removing the vein? Laksa broth was light and fragrant. Pork belly mostly melt in your mouth. Though we thought the pork hadn’t quite fully integrated the flavours of the broth. I suggest pairing dishes with the Beers on offer. It is a small but well curated list. My taste buds were somewhat overwhelmed with the barrage of peppercorns and flavours that wine would have been a difficult order. We left very, very full. And satisfied. High chair and child friendly ; open grass right outside. And Gabriel’s offer a promising ice-cream or chocolate offering for after.

Lovely space with great service. Food was good but not great. Best dishes were squid toast, king prawn in laksa broth and duck. Really good vegetables too. Great placed for an ice-cream next door at Gabriel's.

I just got home from dinner and I’m thrilled that we finally have a restaurant like this in the South! I thoroughly enjoyed every dish from the 'trust the chef' menu. I can’t wait to return!

The food was incredible, and the service was outstanding! The authentic Asian cuisine is simply perfect. I can't recommend the Chinese roast duck enough, but everything was delicious. Plus, they offer takeaway!

Absolutely delicious lunch. Great atmosphere, with amazing decor. Nothing was too much hassle for the waitresses and we were really well catered for, even being a table full of vego's. Thanks for a lovely outing.
