This place has been added to one of my fav to go. Small menu, but we totally enjoyed every single dish we had. Fresh ingredients and appetizing presentations. The prawn were grilled so well and the cod fish were fabulous. Can’t decide which dish is my fav as there were all so tasty. Will definitely be going back when I am down south again. What Dale King dislikes about Barnyard1978:

Turned up Sunday morn for breakfast for 8 people and found all tables were reserved. However staff quickly arranged a bar and eight stools for us and we had excellent coffee bacon eggs salmon etc ... very tasty. A very interesting interior that fits the name ...couldn't fault the service or the food . Only negative unfortunately the unisex toilets could have been cleaner and fresher. View all feedback.

Went with two other friends for a lazy Sunday lunch. Food and services was superb. Small dishes to share worked well. The quality and balance of each dish was really well executed. The really amazing thing was that we were there well after everyone else had gone and there was zero pressure from the staff to leave. That in of itself is worth the visit. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Small menu but the food was great. The smoked kangaroo was delicious but the beef tataki was our favourite dish here. Restaurant has a very clean interior, and the wine is definitely worth trying.

Stopped in here for a speculative lunch without knowing too much about the food, but couldn't have been more delighted with the food, service, and atmosphere. Each dish was totally unique and utterly enjoyable. One of the nicest lunches out we've had in a long time. Fresh, tasty, wholesome food. Servings not massive, but that was just right for us! Thanks for welcoming us...

We only came here for the wine tasting. The chefs in the restaurant looks like they are cooking up a storm. We enjoyed some red wine with a nice female waitress (from Lithuania), she was very polite, friendly and communicated well Definitely coming back here for a wine tasting $5/person They also sell honey but unfortunately no tastings

One of our favourite spots that always deliver on quality of food, wine and service. Seasonal produce menus, known for their beautiful homemade pasta (with on site hen friends providing fresh eggs). Understandably more limited menu in these trying covid times, but oh wow the food was delicious. Great dining experience. Very accomodating helping us to decide which lovely wines and beers to accompany our meals. Cheese and dessert option to finish with homemade cakes and slices available for more variety.

I visited for an early lunch on January 2, 2023, marking my first return in three years, and it was fantastic! Both the service and the food were top-notch. We arrived without a reservation for breakfast, and the food did not disappoint—the coffee was excellent as well. While the service was decent, it fell short of a five-star experience. We found ourselves seated in a high-traffic area due to the fact that all the preferred tables were reserved, but none of those tables were occupied during our visit. Staff frequently brushed past us, which was a bit distracting. I would definitely return, but next time I’ll make a reservation for a better table.

Excellent food had breakfast scrambled egg with eggplant kasundi and baked eggs with pancetta and beans. All pickles and beans are homemade and you can buy them along with their own honey. Great chef and friendly attentive service the glass building enables you to feel as if you are sitting in nature with the ducks. Lovely owner couple. I definitely want to go back for their home made pasta lunches

Pasta. Honey. Wine. A winning combination, all made with love at Barnyard 1978. Barnyard is situated in Yallingup, on the corner of Caves Rd and Canal Rocks Rd and stepping into this beautifully designed, glass walled building, over looking vineyard and beehives, you know you’re in for a good meal. For a winery restaurant located in a prime wine growing region surrounded by plenty of options, Barnyard is a breath of fresh air. While I love a good fancy winery lunch as much as the next person, this place is relaxed and casual (yet classy), friendly and inviting and has a lovely charm about it.

Went for breakfast. A little pricey, but the food was very nice. There was some weird powdery stuff scattered all over the presentation board though, it got all over my outfit and was impossible to brush off. The service was average, the wait time was very slow, the coffee was average tasting. The wheelchair accessible bathroom was also a bit of a mission to get to. You had to wind in and out of tables, a really tight fit if you actually had to navigate your wheelchair.

Ate here for breakfast. The place itself is trendy and funky with lots of things for sale and to have a nosey at and look around. The menu is varied too, if not a little pricey. I ordered the eggs Benedict (eggs and toast with hollandaise on the side) which was ok. Nothing was particularly wrong about it, but the hollandaise didn't have enough acidity to it, to bite through the richness of the eggs. In addition, there was a hair in my meal, which I took back and they replaced it quickly, but they didn't really go out of their way to apologise. Would have at least liked a coffee on the house!
