Cleveleys Kitchen - Wyre

My husband and I recently visited a restaurant and ordered small fish and chips. Unfortunately, the chips were dry and frozen, and the fish portion was very small. The batter was doughy and undercooked. Our 10-year-old granddaughter asked for a cheese toastie, but what she received was one slice of cheap bread barely toasted with cheese on it, along with an empty slice cut in half. We were shocked to find that the meal cost £6.25. The milkshake we ordered was made with watery milk and lacked any real chocolate flavor. On top of that, we were charged an extra 20p for sachets of sauce. To our surprise, we were also charged £1.30 each for a tiny portion of mushy peas served in a small pot. When we received our bill, we realized it was over £26. We were even more disappointed to discover that the restaurant kept the sachets of sauce under the counter and only provided them upon request. We left feeling frustrated and regretful that we didn't return our food and request a refund, especially considering the poor quality of the "Cheese Toastie." We will definitely not be returning to this restaurant again.

I ordered the stake pudding and chips, my wife the roast beef dinner, can't really fault mine was OK nothing special. The home roasted beef dinner was something else, the beef looked and tasted like the frozen stuff you get from Iceland. The Yorkshire pud was made from a recipe that resembled bread, impossible to cut with a knife and indigestible. Donte is a kind way of describing the veg, or uncooked is another way. Good news was the mash was on the button, Go up the street to wetherspoons or the tramway, better value and more than 100% better than this place.

All the food is microwaved and the food is out of date also steve the boss quite rude to his cook.

Called into today. Pretty busy Had lovely coffee and lovely carrot cake. Staff were nice and friendly. Would we come back? Of course we will.

Having visited Cleveleys Kitchen a number of times, I was disappointed on our last visit in April. However, we decided to give it another go yesterday. My wife ordered her favourite, which was Steak Pudding, while I ordered the regular fish. We both ordered mushy peas and a coke. Both were fine, although the fish was on the small side, which was disappointing considering the price. When ordering, we were asked how many sauces we required, to which my wife didn't give much thought to and just said x2 red and a tartar sauce. On our return home, I happened to look at the receipt, which was £24:90. I was then drawn to the itemised pricing, which listed 3 lots of sauces at 20p each. I found this very disappointing that the establishment was charging for sauces, especially when eating in. I may be wrong, but Im sure this is the first time we have been charged for sauce when eating at a cafe restaurant. I'm not sure if the sauce cost is listed on the menu, but I doubt we will be returning and will look for an alternative. We did use salt and pepper, but as this was not listed on the receipt, I presume that it was free.....
