Nestled beside a picturesque canal, this restaurant has undergone a thrilling transformation under new management, drawing in both locals and visitors alike. Guests are welcomed with warm smiles and a historic ambiance, while the menu boasts tantalizing dishes, including standout options like expertly cooked steak and BBQ beef brisket burgers. We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The welcome was warm, the food was fantastic, and the chef even came out to explain the delicious dishes to us. I highly recommend trying the chicken strips with the amazing gravy—it's even better than the popular takeaway chicken brand. Overall, it was a great experience with friendly staff, a great selection of beers, and fabulous food. I would give it a five-star rating. Andy Shell.
Disregard the reviews from last year, as the new owners have a great menu and delicious food. I was impressed by the quirky and historic features of the restaurant from my visits years ago. I decided to bring my family for a visit and we were impressed during our afternoon stop, so we returned for dinner. The large, open log fire in the old barn was welcoming on a cold February/March day. The real ale and good wines paired well with our meal. I look forward to returning in the summer to enjoy the outdoor seating area with a view of the canal.

You can sit outside by the canal. Inside it's very warm and cosy. The food was good. We both had the steak. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
