Description

Tava offers an extensive Indian menu that captivates with its variety. While the restaurant’s ambiance and friendly service add to the experience, food quality remains inconsistent. Some patrons praised dishes like onion bhajis and lamb balti for their authentic flavors, while others reported cold meals, overly salty dishes, and poorly prepared naan. Takeaway experiences varied widely, with issues ranging from incorrect orders to inedible items. Despite these challenges, many guests appreciate the large portions and reasonable prices. For those lucky enough to find a consistent experience, Tava remains a valued discovery amidst mixed reviews.

An extensive food menu, but no low/no alcohol beer or lager on the drinks menu. The dishes we chose were tasty, but served like warm. Our naan and others we saw had a pool of ghee on top of them. My husband would not try ours: I just ate the fluffy bits around the edge. There was atmosphere in the restaurant and the service was fine; but there was nothing special to make us want to return.

We are on holiday in Holt. We eat Indian meals at home regularly. This restaurant was one of the best. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is beautifully cooked. Especial favourite were the onion bhajis.

I vomited immediately after eating at this restaurant. The food had a strange smell and tasted odd, but I assumed it was supposed to be that way because it was sour. I was wrong. I spent the entire evening throwing up. The Pashwari naan was burnt but tasty. The other four dishes we ordered were decent. One dish was basically plain yogurt with melted peanut butter and chicken mixed in. Another dish was labeled as not spicy, but turned out to be extremely spicy. The lemon rice was enjoyable.
