Reviews - Tava
Reviews summary
Tava offers an extensive Indian menu that captivates with its variety. While the restaurant’s ambiance and friendly service add to the experience, food quality remains inconsistent. Some patrons praised dishes like onion bhajis and lamb balti for their authentic flavors, while others reported cold meals, overly salty dishes, and poorly prepared naan. Takeaway experiences varied widely, with issues ranging from incorrect orders to inedible items. Despite these challenges, many guests appreciate the large portions and reasonable prices. For those lucky enough to find a consistent experience, Tava remains a valued discovery amidst mixed reviews.

I vomited immediately after eating at this restaurant. The food had a strange smell and tasted odd, but I assumed it was supposed to be that way because it was sour. I was wrong. I spent the entire evening throwing up. The Pashwari naan was burnt but tasty. The other four dishes we ordered were decent. One dish was basically plain yogurt with melted peanut butter and chicken mixed in. Another dish was labeled as not spicy, but turned out to be extremely spicy. The lemon rice was enjoyable.
We are pleased with our experience! The food was delicious, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was serene and pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Food was cold when it arrived.... again. Items missing from the order... again! We have so many issues with Tava we are just going to give up in future. We spend £50 a time and it's just not worth it. The food isn't even great when it arrives. A watery Jalfrezi and a Chicken Tikka Korma that was just plain chicken breast and tasteless. Wish we could get a decent Indian in the village.... but after 4 years, we just give up now. What a shame!

Always had excellent service and food, would reccomend without reserve, both takeaway and eating in the restaurant
We chanced upon this place, late on a Sunday evening. Courteous reception, full choice of an extensive menu, timely service, candlelight, authentically delicious Indian cuisine and we were waited on by a delightful, entertaining waiter with star quality. Will definitely return and recommend wholeheartedly!
We were staying in Farndon for 3 nights in an Air BnB breaking our journey home from Scotland to Wiltshire. We ordered via their website and my husband went to collect. One of the nicest curries we've had in a while. We had Onion Bhajee starters, my husband had Chicken Madras and I had Chicken Himalayan. We also had a Keema Nan and Peshwari Nan. All of the food was very tasty, hot and enjoyable. I would certainly recommend Tava if you're staying in the area and fancy an Indian takeaway.
Ordered take away it arrived in good time. Chips were inedible they were chewy and felt a day old. Naan bread was burnt. Tikka was salty. Chicken was the only pleasant thing. This morning I am unwell which does not surprise me.
We regularly stay in the area (Coddington) and this is our go to takeaway. Easy to order online, amazing choice of items on the menu. Large portions of extremely tasty Indian dishes from the standard to some new dishes we’ve never had before. Staff very friendly and order prepared fairly quickly, even for a Friday evening.

Kid-friendliness: They serve half portions for kids Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Chicken Chaat, Naan, Poppadoms
Honestly the best biriyani I've ever had plus the curry sauces were amazing. Even smaller things such as the condiments for the poppadoms were far better than anything I've had before. Highly recommend Tava and will definitely be returning! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I visit this restaurant every weekend and consistently enjoy the great food and welcoming atmosphere. The staff members—Danny, Farhan, Mez, and the rest—are always friendly and attentive to the customers' needs. For dinner, I usually spend around £20-30 per person. I’d rate the food a perfect 5, the service a 5 as well, and the atmosphere a solid 4. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Dish, Soft Lamb Achari, and Chicken Pakora!

As always, the service was excellent. We didn't have any children with us this time, but it wouldn't have been an issue if we did, as the staff is always accommodating. The food was fantastic, just like before. Even though it was busy, the service remained top-notch. We visited on a Wednesday to enjoy their 3-course meal for £10.95, and the mixed starter was amazing while the main course was delicious. I can't recommend this place highly enough!
The customer service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the drinks menu was impressive. My family and I really enjoyed our experience and will definitely return!
