I had lunch at the restaurant today. I ordered the smoked squid, chips, and salad. My friend had the open steak sandwich, which was also excellent. The Talbot never fails to impress, from the service to the beer selection. It was a perfect meal.
Yesterday, I stopped by The Talbot and tried their Wednesday pizza. I highly recommend it - it would be a great addition to your menu.
If you want Art on a Plate that leaves you hungry jog on by HOWEVER if you want ruddy good locally sourced produce simply cooked and served on big white plates STOP !! Also superlative Ales from Teme Valley Brewery which are brewed directly behind the pub. Some people say it is a time warp and tired yes it is but Mr and Mrs customer don 't have a clue what goes on to make this an institution. It has survived the pandemic and a lot haven 't . Try and be a little kinder and appreciative to this wonderful if a little tired proper boozer! Visit with an open mind but if you insist on going to a chi chi gastropub where everything appears perfect and seldom is jog on by BUT if you appreciate good Farmers grub at very reasonable prices and are prepared to understand the bit of a Mish mash furniture etc STOP go in have a pint of their wonderful ale and get a plate of grub. Well done!
