Bought fish, chips, curry sauce and mushy peas and was very disappointed. Shared with a family member as the portions are huge. Chips were mediocre, fish tasted a bit funny (like it was a bit stale) and was coated in a soggy batter that...tasted like pancake! Curry sauce was ok but ugh those mushy peas were so sweet, we couldn't eat them. Come on Ambleside, sort it out! View all feedback.

A return visit after a couple of years away from the Lakes and the fish and chips were just as good as the first time. We had the regular fish and chips at just under a tenner each and the portion size was spot on. Not too big and not too small. Both were cooked as we waited which was absolutely fine as the view of the lake at sunset is pretty much perfect to look at. We were given a little alarm that beeped when our food was ready, which I think is a great idea and not one I've ever seen before. Staff were very friendly and cheerful and a credit to the shop. Will be definitely returning again!
