Contribute FeedbackThe reviews for Volpe restaurant on Long Island were varied, with some diners enjoying the food and service while others had mixed experiences. Some highlights included the excellent service provided by Nicole, delicious scallion pancakes, chicken and broccoli, and a great Mother's Day brunch. However, there were complaints about the quality of certain dishes like the grilled octopus, mozzarella and prosciutto, and veal scaloppine. Some diners also mentioned issues with the billing process and food presentation. Overall, the atmosphere was praised, and some diners highly recommended the restaurant for its value and service.
This experience is still sticking in my craw so I lowered from 3 to 2 stars. For the amount of money we spent and the fact that the place was empty we had quite a mediocre experience. First can we talk about your beer selection? It was like being in a 1980s movie (Amstel, Heineken, Bud, Coors light) you know about the craft beer revolution? Then, as said the place was empty and we felt rushed. We barely sat down and we were pushed to order. No advice on what is good, specials, I like , etc. Figured the manager might stop by (did I say the place was empty); nope. The food tasted good but the meal was forgettable. For $300 I would have expected at least a memory of a nice night instead I just remember being rushed in an empty restaurant where the exotic beer was Bud. We had choices we picked this restaurant out of convenience. We will think twice going forward.
Our dinner server was an outstanding wait person whose first name is Rosa. Rosa was patient with my wife and I as this was our first time at Volpe. The evening was just excellent. Drinks made to perfection, service outstanding and the food, the best duck ever.
Usually go for dinner . Tried the Mothers Day brunch. It was very good. we shared items between us, the Nutella stuffed French toast was amazing. Menu was simple but it worked for us. Only thing I did not like was the flat bread pizza my daughter ordered. We were greeted with a basket of free bagels, croissants and warm focaccia bread. Free round of mimosas . At the end dessert was included. Not bad for $50. ! If they do this again I am going for the burger next time. Stacked with a fried eggs, cheese and onions.
Did their Mother's Day Brunch. Deeply disappointed. Food was at best just ok. Small menu for the Brunch. My salmon was over cooked. It was served with 2 florets of cauliflower, 1/2 of a cherry tomato and tiny serving of broccoli rabe. My friend had a $70 waffle with a couple of raspberries. It included dessert and a Mimosa or a Bellini. I don't mind spending the money for a meal but this was just sad.
Went here for a wedding anniversary dinner and will never return. The service was unfriendly except for one server that wasn’t even assigned to our table. The food, appetizers and entrees, was mediocre at best. My filet mignon was served cold and overcooked . I ordered med rare and was given well done. A manager was rude when asked to come to the table by our server to resolve this issue. This restaurant looks great but did not deliver on expectations. We were treated better at the Colony Diner in East Meadow which is where went for desert after our less than pleasant experience at Volpe.
