What Sarah Frauchiger dislikes about Chip Stop:
The food never arrived despite ordering from the restaurant called the chippy twice. The first time, the person on the phone said it was on its way, and the second time, a girl claimed it had been delivered. I am a regular customer on Just Eat, and I am extremely disappointed. Shame on you for not delivering the food. View all feedback.

My wife is a coeliac so has to have gluten free. We live in Wednesfield on the other side of city, but make the journey because the food is okay. Tonight, I put in my order £25.30, and was made to wait almost half an hour for the order. You’d think, surely, if people can be bothered to walk in, that they would be served first, or perhaps, have a dedicated member of staff to look after them and not have all staff pandering to Go Eat or whoever. A 30 minute wait for fish and chips is very, very poor and I shall try to find somewhere closer to home.
Was not able to order food cause they would not deliver my order with it being below £10, I wouldn’t mind but they charge you for delivery anyway so I don’t think it really matters if it just below that or not, not good customer service at all.
Have just been here. It is my local chip shop and although I am not a frequent visitor I always go here if I fancy fish and chips. The food has always been fine. However, after tonight never again. Two people in shop and one outside all of whom had been served and were waiting orders to be prepared. Four or five members of staff, including I believe the owner. No one waiting to be served. I stood at the counter for about 7 minutes with no acknowledgement whatsoever. You know the experience. the waiter in the restaurant who knows you are there and will not catch your eye under any circumstances even though they are perfectly well aware of your presence. All it takes is a polite I will be with you in just a few minutes , which none of the five could be bothered to do. So I walked out. If you cannot be bothered to acknowledge me or take three seconds to be polite, I can 't be bothered to come to your shop again. And don 't worry, I will tell lots of people about my experience. When you take customers for granted, it is time to shut up shop.
We’ve been regular customers for over a year with them. But tonight will be the last time we use them. They served and delivered food that clearly hadn’t been cooked right. Chicken that was bleeding, a meal that was supposed to have curry sauce hardly had any on. And served spicy tikka kebab meat to my mother when she asked for plain kebab. There quick enough to deliver your food. But if you complain they really don’t care. They eventually do give your money back. But make you wait over an hour for it. Which isn’t on at all, plus it’s not a full refund as they keep the delivery money which you pay for. The lady who we spoke to clearly didn’t care, and her attitude was oh well. This is disgusting, Certainly won’t be using them again. And a lot of “young kids” working in there who clearly don’t have a clue eBay there doing.
Chip Stop in Wednesfield is known for providing gluten-free options, which is a big draw for customers with gluten intolerances. While some have complained about long wait times and lack of acknowledgement, others have praised the deliciousness of their gluten-free fish and chips. The staff is described as friendly and competent, going above and beyond to cater to customers with special dietary needs. Despite some negative experiences, many customers keep coming back for the fantastic food quality and cleanliness of the place. As Chip Stop changes ownership, regulars hope the quality will remain top-notch.

Really tasty food, just the right amount of salt, hot on arrival and lovely delivery person

I placed an order for delivery expecting it to arrive in an hour, but I was surprised when it showed up in just 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the food was cold when it arrived, which has never happened before. I usually order from this restaurant.
The food arrived hot and fresh, the fish was delicious and not soggy. Nothing was oily, I will definitely be ordering again.
Tried Chip Stop for the first time tonight and I found it be a very decent chippy. Pros Great tasting chips, the plain were nice but the battered were very good, a very light batter, not too heavy with the right amount of crunch. Not oily either and we're freshly cooked, I watched them prepare and fry fresh. The price I found to be very fair, mini fish and chips with a choice of sauce was £5.50 OR £6 I can't remember but for that you get a decent sized portion of fish, bang on for the money and a decent portion of chips, so not sure what other people have stated below about portions being small, they definitely wasn't. Good friendly service but was a little slow, it was expected as there were queues the whole time I was in there waiting for my food. All food was prepared fresh and because of that I didn't mind waiting. Cons The masala fish I had I think contained red food dye, please guys if you're reading this just do your masala mix without the dye or add tandoori masala in for the red colour. The shop I felt needed a little updating, tiles were cracked and loose on the floor and the menu boards really looked old. Apart from that a great overall experience. Any customers in Penn if you're thinking of popping here get yourself in and at least try their chips, definitely a decent chippy! All the best

If you enjoy being messed about, kept waiting for ages and patronised by the staff, you'll love it here! Here's an example: Ordered large fish and chips. AFTER they have taken my money, they tell me they have already sold the last large fish to someone else, but more will be ready in FIVE minutes. TEN minutes later, a member of staff starts to batter some fish. I then ask where my fish is, to be told it won't be long! When I point out that they said it would only be a five minute wait, and that ten had already passed and the fish wasn't even in the fryer yet, they throw a strop! Unbelievable! If this was the first time this had happened you could say anyone can have a bad day, but this has happened a few times now. Needless to say, my money will now be spent elsewhere.

The gluten-free fish and chips are absolutely fantastic! The batter was delicious, and the staff were very accommodating, answering all my questions about gluten-free vinegar. The large chips are definitely a generous portion. Keep in mind that gluten-free options are only available on Tuesdays and Saturdays. I placed my order on a Saturday night, and it was ready in just 15 minutes.
I was informed that curry sauce and sausages are available, but I chose to stick to gluten-free options and didn't inquire about those items. I was assured that the chips are gluten-free. The fish and chips were outstanding, and for the first time, I didn't experience any negative side effects after eating them. I would definitely return to Chip Stop. Thank you for accommodating those with Coeliac disease!

I absolutely love this restaurant. The owner is celiac, and every time I'm there, he takes my order personally. You can really see the care they put into everything, and the food is incredibly delicious.
This restaurant takes gluten-free dining seriously. They use dedicated frying equipment and utensils to ensure safety, and all gluten-free items are clearly labeled with a sticker. The owners have family members with gluten sensitivities, which adds a personal touch to their commitment to providing a safe dining experience.
