We've been here several times over the past few years to enjoy the extensive breakfast buffet. Everything from bread and rolls to baked potatoes and egg dishes is available. There's also fresh fruit, cereals, milk and milk alternatives, various cakes and waffles, sausage and ham (the roast beef is also delicious), meat salad, egg salad, fried mushrooms, small sausages, bacon, baked beans, a custom-made omelet, and a selection of fish. There are also juices, prosecco, hot chocolate, filter coffee, coffee from the coffee machine, and cappuccino from the portafilter machine, among other options. Over the years, the price has naturally increased somewhat and is now €27.90. However, anyone who occasionally has breakfast in a German hotel knows that this is a normal price for a breakfast buffet these days. Considering the selection, the price is perfectly reasonable, and we enjoyed our breakfast again this time. Only the service could be a bit more attentive (empty plates remained on the table for a bit longer) and the ambience could be improved by using room dividers (e.g. beaded curtains).

The breakfast selection is really nice and varied. The prices are a bit high in my opinion. The juice glasses could be a bit larger, and the plates are a bit hidden – perhaps they could add these to other locations.

Disappointing Experience – Not Recommended We went to the breakfast buffet at the lagoon today for my wife 's birthday – unfortunately for the last time. Things didn 't go smoothly right from the reservation stage: I had reserved a table for 8:30 a.m. by phone, but the confirmation came for 9:00 a.m. We could have lived with that. I had also ordered a birthday cake with a personalized dedication – also by phone. However, no one knew about it on the day of the visit. No cake, no surprise – absolutely disappointing and unprofessional for a birthday. The buffet selection in no way matched the price. It was particularly unpleasant when we found a black hair in the panna cotta – an absolute no-go. Another major annoyance was the room temperature: We were sitting right by the door to the terrace, which was permanently open on the hottest day of the year. Despite repeated requests – including from other guests – the door was not closed. When I asked, the waitress simply replied, Why? I have to go out there too. The heat was almost unbearable, and the air conditioning couldn 't cope. It was simply inconsiderate and unpleasant. Finally, we were charged in full for our birthday dinner, which was supposed to be free. When we asked, we were simply told that management wasn 't there yet, and the only person we were contacted was Mrs. Meier – without any further explanation or assistance. Summary: A disappointing visit with poor service, unfriendly staff, and no trace of hospitality. We will definitely not be returning.

Excellent staff. The service level is far superior to that of any cafeteria. Unfortunately, the food doesn 't match this high quality. I 've eaten at the Lagune several times and would describe the taste of the hot dishes as average. I also find it annoying that they regularly try to be particularly innovative with their daily specials. Example: today we had Loaded Fries with sour cream and peaches. Of course, taste is a matter of opinion, but who puts peaches on fries!? Being open-minded, I tried the dish and got exactly what I expected. Peaches and potatoes don 't taste right! By the way, they only served canned peaches with sugar.

I like going here because the food for both breakfast and lunch is fresh, seasonal, regional, and mostly organic. And you can taste it! I also get good, seasonal German home cooking here. Breakfast offers everything your heart desires, from various hot and cold dishes to homemade breads and rolls from the in house bakery, omelets, freshly squeezed juices, and various toppings, as well as desserts, waffles, and more from the in house café. Plenty of tea and coffee. Reservations are recommended during holiday season. At lunchtime, a rotating selection of hot dishes is offered, and there's a salad bar with seasonally changing hot and cold salads, which are priced by weight. It's quite expensive, but everything tastes fresh and made with high quality ingredients. And finally, even the Autostadt is affected by inflation. You can have as much bread and rolls as you like as a side dish, and for an additional charge, you can also have meat or fish. Plus point: There are many vegan and vegetarian salads. The cakes and tarts are also highly recommended. The only drawback: some of the slices are a bit small, but the taste is all the more convincing: real instead of artificial, and a changing selection of pastries depending on the season makes the café interesting. There's always a cake of the month and an ice cream of the month, which are more generous. This year's cream puff was the best I've ever eaten and it was amazing! The ice cream selection may be limited, but you can see and taste that they use real ingredients. They also have good coffee beans, including decaffeinated ones. And finally, the staff is very friendly and attentive. For children, there's a large play area with good wooden toys, a large motor skills cube, and a chalkboard. Conclusion: Recommended for families; there's something for everyone. It's worth digging a little deeper into your pockets for this.
