The food, as always, was delicious and I’m so glad I phoned forward to reserve the honey and mustard glazed ham hock, the girlfriend was very appreciative. The whole evening was wonderful, from the attentive staff and manager, to the decor and ambiance. A very homely atmosphere and a pleasure to eat there. We will, of course, be back there soon. Thanks to all.

The turkey first course was excellent (though I h... read more The service was very good and our meal arrived fairly quickly. This was due I'm sure to pre-ordering the meal. The turkey first course was excellent (though I had to ask for my meal to be heated up a bit.. but I was a bit disappointed with the Christmas pudding, which was a quite dry and not dark and treacly as they usually are. The custard was very nice though. Also the fish course was excellent and the cheesecake dessert very good for one of our party. Generally the experience was lovely with a good table in a light and cosy part of the pub and an attractive setting with crackers. It was also good value for money.
