We stopped for coffee at this bakery before starting our visit of the lovely village of Winningen ! We had not had a full breakfast yet and the owner offered us a ham and cheese sandwich which was excellent . The place is typical of a German cafe and the owner was very friendly . With a more elaborate menu , it would deserve a rating of ''excellent '' . View all feedback.

With "they" I mean of course the Germans, who succeed to install in every town or village bakeries where you can have a nice sit-down (often in an outside area when the weather is clement) with a cup of coffee and, (here comes the strong point) an excellent, fresh and extremely tasty piece of cake or pastry. Café Sander, in the town of Willingen at the river Moselle, is such an establishment. Parking is free in front of the building. A nice sit-down in the spring sun was thrown in and the cake was delicious. Unfortunately the view on the river is obstructed by an moth eaten train viaduct, used by local DB trains. But a stop at Café Sander is highly recommended.
