We have had breakfast here a few times, the catfish and the prime rib. Portions are great and the atmosphere is friendly. Can't wait to try some more of their Louisiana menu. View all feedback.
Always great food and large portions. Friendly service. Have eaten there at least 10 times and always a pleasure.

First experience...Wanted to stop in for breakfast. Arrived and found the closed sign lit up. Called the next day and was told the sign was acting up and they were actually open at the time. No problem, try again. Second experience...I stopped in for gumbo. After a few minutes they informed me they were out and would have some the next day. No problem, try again. Third experience...I called the next day around noon for a carry out order of gumbo and a breakfast burrito. I was told there was no gumbo at that time but it would arrive around 2ish as it is actually made in Onalaska and not on sight. Ok, no problem. I did order a breakfast burrito carry out for my partner. She tried but found it to be not very good. Mostly due to greasy scrambled eggs that were flecked with black and brown spots. Probably due to being cooked on a not very clean griddle or pan. The tortilla was a bit strange as well. Kind of greasy. I am a retired chef and tried to give it a shot. Sorry but no dice on this one.

Tried out the new restaurant in downtown Winlock. My husband and I were excited to try a restaurant in the area that had a southern touch . I ordered the biscuits gravy, which also came with hashbrowns and eggs. I was bummed when I tried the food! It just tasted flat, with no noticeable seasoning. I wasn 't going to even complain; but when the server came over and saw that I hadn 't eaten probably 90 95% of my food, she asked what was wrong. After she asked a couple of times, I just told her that it didn 't really have any flavor and I didn 't care for it. The owner, Lisa, came over to talk to me. She was somewhat confrontational, beginning the conversation with the question so what was the problem? . I explained to her that the food lacked seasoning, and the hashbrowns weren 't really even browned, let alone crisp. She was defensive and said that the hashbrowns are always served that way and that if I wanted crispy hashbrowns, I should have ordered them crispy. (If I had known I needed to, I would have). She said that they intentionally don 't use much seasoning and then went on to explain to me that she gets tons of compliments on the biscuits gravy. Before the owner came over, my husband and I had already spoken about the fact that perhaps it was just a bad dish and that maybe their dinner choices that have a Cajun flair would be better and that we would come back sometime to try that. However, the owner 's attitude really turned both of us off! I 'm not sure why she even bothered coming over to talk to me, because she really didn 't seem interested in honest feedback. Funny thing is, I wouldn 't have even bothered saying anything about it at all if I hadn 't been asked in the first place. Overall, the atmosphere was okay, though nothing special; the service was a bit slow, as it took about 40 minutes to get food after ordered; the server was observant; but unfortunately the owner had a terrible attitude when there 's a problem.
