Description

Orange restaurant on Chapel Street in Melbourne has received mixed reviews from customers. While some praise the fantastic location, ambience, and delicious food options, others have criticized the declining quality of service and long wait times. The menu offers a variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with highlights including the Bircher muesli, avocado toast, and panna cotta. The cafe has a cozy interior with eclectic decor and a covered outdoor seating area. Overall, Orange seems to have potential for improvement, but current reviews are a mix of positive and negative experiences.

I have been eating here for years. It is the perfect business breakfast meeting place. The menu has everything...Eggs everything, then make your own combinations with mains sides as you wish. There are is always a good vegan option. The coffee is just terrific, and the wait staff sassy and cheerful. Choice of tables, from small or booths for a few more. You will find this place full of regulars from the Prahran Windsor area and its interesting to watch all the visitors.Tables out the front for the "puffers". Orange is now spread over the two shops and it's quirky and great way to start your day.

Orange used to be a great place to go for breakfast , lunch , dinner or just drinks or a coffee. There has been a steady decline in the quality of service over the last 12 months . They have a great location, the ambience is terrific but they seem to forget they need to actually serve their customers . There is too much competition in Chapel street for them to rest on their laurels . I hope they pick up their game VERY soon . What is the new owner thinking ??? They used to be busy at most times of the day and yet now they are virtually empty during the day . I had also planned to have a coffee there this week but after waiting 10 minutes to be served I left and went over the road . There was no one else in the restaurant although I could see 3 staff chatting to each other inside .

I work on Chapel Street and have passed this Café many times without venturing in. What a mistake that was.Three of us had dinner at Orange last night and were in for a treat. Initially I didn't find it appealing because the music was a little loud and the heater was blasting away. But once inside, it was more relaxed and comfortable. Eclectic furniture and décor with earthy brick walls and dim lighting is a nice touch. And I do love a bar / coffee area at the front where a waiter is constantly making, blending and mixing concoctions. The café is bigger than I thought and there is a very nice covered outside area to eat as well. The waitress with a delightful French accent took our order quickly. The special offer was two entrees for the price of one.We ordered Entrée: paella, prawns, saganaki and bruschetta. My colleague ordered chicken sticks on beans and asparagus with zesty lime dressing. The food was great (the bread a little too crusty for my liking) but everything was delicious, tasty and nicely presented. We were on a deadline and the staff were able to ensure our meals came quickly. As usual, parking can be hassle on Chapel Street, so take your time and make sure you check how long you can park.Staff were great here.Mood - very nice. Will return and test out more items on the menu.

Cafés in Melbourne need to be on top of their game. Particularly those in Chapel St, and especially those in close proximity to Dukes. Unfortunately, Orange is not. Ordered a Bircher muesli and a cap, but the wait was long and the Bircher inedible. Service was self-indulgent and the ambience clunky. Haven't been back since - there are just far too many other solid and better options around!! 2 stars for me.
