Family-run restaurants are truly the best! With its friendly service and delicious homemade dishes, Millrock stands out as a perfect example. It’s a cherished community spot featuring a chef and pastry chef from the Culinary Institute of America. I can't wait for my next visit! View all feedback.
What Patrick Norman dislikes about Mill Rock:
The food was great, service was great (aside from the underhanded charge) and the atmosphere is great. My problem is with them telling us they have buttered noodles for kids and then charging us $28 a plate for them (at bill time)… each was more than the cost of either of our in menu plates…. Absolutely mind blowing to me. View all feedback.

Not only was the food delicious, service amazing and had all around great vibes, the staff and management were some of the nicest and most genuine people my party and I have encountered. Kid-friendliness: I don’t believe there was a kids menu but our party consisted of four kids under the age of 6. Everyone was happy! Kiddos loved the lemon sorbet too!
I've updated my original review to reflect my more recent experience. I had dinner here during the winter and was pleasantly surprised by the changes made by the current owners, John Gallino and his wife. The cocktails were fantastic, and I enjoyed the veal marsala followed by a delicious cheesecake for dessert. I was a bit taken aback by the price, but considering the original owners have stepped down, I would definitely recommend this place.
If I could give this restaurant a negative rating, I absolutely would. My experience with their takeout service was nothing short of appalling, and I felt completely disrespected by the quality of the food and the inflated prices. I spent $48 on two orders of Shrimp Scampi and another $12 on roasted vegetables, totaling $64. Here are the major issues I encountered: 1. **Shrimp Scampi**: The dish was utterly flavorless, with the spaghetti being severely undercooked and the shrimp overcooked to the point of being inedible. The pasta's texture was akin to chewing on chalk. After just one bite, I couldn't finish either order and had to throw them away. Honestly, my eight-year-old sister could have prepared a better meal. 2. **Roasted Vegetables**: When I inquired about roasted veggies, the staff confirmed they had them. However, when I returned to my hotel—30 minutes away—I found just three small pieces of oily broccoli and about nine green peas. To make matters worse, there was **public hair** in my food. It felt deliberate, and my wife and I were left speechless. We couldn't call the restaurant due to a lack of phone service, and I wasn't about to drive back for half an hour only to find them closed by the time I returned to Millrock—the worst restaurant in Windham. 3. **Packaging**: To top it all off, the packaging was also covered in hair. We had hoped for a nice Saturday dinner after seeing positive reviews about this establishment. We entered respectfully, expressing our excitement about trying the food, but this experience soured our evening. I felt disrespected and will never return. **A Note to Management**: Respect your customers at all times, especially with takeout orders. We opted for takeout to enjoy a romantic dinner in our rented cabin, and this meal was a complete nightmare. Thank goodness we didn't consume any of it; I had a genuine fear that the dishes might be contaminated, given the hair issue. Your restaurant took our money and lost our trust. We approached you in good faith, eager to enjoy your food, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone—not even my worst enemy or any animal. The service was horrendous.
Very nice restaurant in downtown. Love the bar scene. Tasty food and drinks. Friendly and accommodating staff. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible to the bar area and restaurant.

Millrock, Windham N.Y if your palette wants Italian American food, you have found a quaint bistro style. Mussels in bianco sauce was simply delicious with slivers fresh garlic, shallots and hint of creamy butter ,herbs ,fresh and sizeable mussels along with fresh baked bread is a meal in it self. Bolognese red sauce with linguine perfectly acidity and sweetness that doesn't leave your stomach acidic. Perfection to the chef. If your palette craves 12 inch personal pizza margarita base with toppings of your choice and fresh homemade mozzarella soars to new heights with thin crust. Millrock also has premier wine inventory, tonight staffing seems understaffed and not alot of tables, hopefully this will be remedied since this is a hidden gem in Windham N.Y. that will please your senses.Millrock also charges a credit card fee to use your credit card, no one carrys cash?? My credit company advised this is illegal in ny and questionable charging your customers a fee to use a credit card. taking advantage during this economic inflation. Hrs Thursday through Sunday.
Had a FANTASTIC meal at Millrock. Dinner was delicious but leave room for dessert SUPERB. The staff and owner were engaging, they treated us like regulars. The back patio was the perfect place to hang out while enjoying food and company. Will definitely return if we're in the area.
We went to the Flora Fauna Conference at Windham Manor and went to Millrock for dinner! It was AMAZING. Food was amazing and Justine (owner) is lovely! She chatted with us about our conference and I’m happy I got to tell her the Alfredo was the best I had in years! 5 hours from home and I will be back!!!! Loved our experience there. Need to try the pizza next time I go!
Two things stood out about this place: the warm, attentive staff and the food. They seated us 10 mins before they technically close, and although it was still a full house, that kinda thing goes a long way. Quality ingredients and fair prices.
