What Paul M doesn't like about Caen Hill Cafe:
This was my first visit to this café, and it will likely be my last. I ordered a bacon sandwich just 5 minutes after they opened, only to be told they were out of baps but had brown or white bread available. I opted for white bread, paid, and sat down at an outside bench. The sandwich arrived within 2 minutes, and the bread was delicious. Unfortunately, the bacon seemed to be precooked and had been sitting out for a... View all feedback. What Fiona Hawke likes about Caen Hill Cafe:
Mother and son lunch here before a gentle stroll up and down the locks. My son age 11 loved his bacon bap, my sausage roll coffee was great too. Friendly efficient service at the hatch, lovely peaceful outside seating in the shade. I’d definitely recommend. View all feedback.

read moreLocated by the Caen Hill flight of locks, this quaint café offers a mixed experience. While the bacon sandwich was disappointing with hard, burnt edges, the bread was delicious. The café itself could use a good clean, as it appeared tired with soiled tables and dirty bird poo-covered benches. The staff seemed indifferent, but the outdoor seating provided a lovely view of the Kennet and Avon canal. Despite the cleanliness issues, the café offers a variety of food options, including fresh cream tea and ice cream for dogs, making it a charming stop after a long walk along the canal.

read moreStopped for welcome coffee after walking the locks. Nice outside seating areas and no frills inside but good coffee.
We had a bite of lunch here on a recent trip to the locks, it was a nice day so we sat outside, we had soft drinks and a light lunch which was lovely.
