Mother and son lunch here before a gentle stroll up and down the locks. My son age 11 loved his bacon bap, my sausage roll coffee was great too. Friendly efficient service at the hatch, lovely peaceful outside seating in the shade. I’d definitely recommend. View all feedback.

This was my first visit to this café, and it will likely be my last. I ordered a bacon sandwich just 5 minutes after they opened, only to be told they were out of baps but had brown or white bread available. I opted for white bread, paid, and sat down at an outside bench. The sandwich arrived within 2 minutes, and the bread was delicious. Unfortunately, the bacon seemed to be precooked and had been sitting out for a while, resulting in it being hard, dry, and burnt on the edges. I ended up throwing most of the bacon in the bin. It doesn't take long to cook bacon properly, and I would have preferred to wait an extra 10 minutes for a decent bacon sandwich instead of the disappointing one I received.
Home made soup with bread is delicious. Close beside Caen Hill locks therefore well worth making a refreshment stop on the way.
I stopped by this restaurant after completing a 10k walk and was very thirsty. However, I was left feeling disappointed as I stood at the serving hatch and was ignored by the four staff members in the kitchen. They served three people in front of me with ice creams, even though they knew I was waiting. After waiting for several minutes, I decided to leave and bought cold drinks from the spar shop instead. This was disappointing for me as I live nearby and used to visit this restaurant regularly.
We stopped by for some delicious ice creams (including a selection of plant based ones thank you). Staff were very friendly and the cafe overlooks the amazing locks.
This cafe is lovely, offering a delicious tuna melt and a variety of cakes on display. The staff is friendly and accommodating. While the interior may be on the smaller side, there is ample outdoor seating for the summer months in a charming setting. Conveniently located near a car park for those who may have difficulty walking far. Additionally, the cafe is dog-friendly.
