The menu at the Red Lion is great, but there were occasions when items were not available and a second look at the menu was necessary. The food, from appetizers to entrees, is prepared and served well, always hot. Unfortunately, the young staff fell short as they need improved customer service training, which affected the overall experience. View all feedback.
What افروزه رحماندوست doesn't like about 1220:
Small hotel bar which didn't really live up to its name in terms of the decoration. Small selection of beer and cider but comfy chairs. Signage for toilets is quite confusing. Some interesting objects on the walls. View all feedback.
My wife and I spontaneously decided to have Sunday lunch at the bar/restaurant. We had our lunch in the Victoria Lounge which was a lovely setting with comfy chairs and tables and had more of a restaurant feel than a bar. Sunday Roast was on the specials and we decided to have roast beef a great choice! The meal was well cooked, hot, well presented and prompt. We were served by the duty manager who made sure all our needs were attended to.
In nearly all aspects is very good. atmosphere, ales are excellent. in the 1220 bar be aware that the main...
For the last 10 years on my 3 grand daughters birthdays I have taken them to the Red Lion for afternoon tea which was always a delight, until yesterday. At £9.50 a head one expects more than is offered and the quality and quantity has taken a steep dive into the poor bracket compared to the experience we used to have. The menu states what the tea consists of and on its arrival elements are missing or not as described.Tartlets none, biscuits (plural) one, scones that break up into crumbs when trying to butter them etc.Penny pinching has spoiled what was a lovely experience and it is such a shame.I would not ordinarily use this forum to criticise but I used the Red Lions' own online comments page and received nothing back so here I am.
Great food, and excellent service even though we didn't arrive until gone 2 o'clock. Lovely quiet surroundings, friendly staff
I do not know what has happened here, it used to be my favourite venue in Salisbury. At lunch in the 1220 bar yesterday (Monday 10th Dec 2012), we were initially offered only part of the lunch menu, the waitress later brought us the 2nd page. Having made our choices, the food was delivered in good time, however, no condiments were offered. I had a pasta dish but no Parmesan cheese or black pepper was offered. I asked two waitresses before it appeared by which time my pasta was cooling and was almost inedible. one of the party had fish and chips but no salt or vinegar was offered. Waitresses blamed it on 'the new menu ', I blame it on the lack of effective preparation of waitresses by management. Very disappointed, I need to find another restaurant in Salisbury as I will not visit the Red Lion again.
