This location is always busy. Their drive thru is a little odd. There really isn't room for it. It works, though. The inside is shared with an Erberts and Gerberts. It's nice if some people want sandwiches and the other wants tacos. The place could use a remodel, but it's clean!
This was my first experience ordering from Taco John's. The drive-thru area is a bit cramped, but the customer service was friendly. I tried the fried chicken taco, and the chicken was crispy—I would definitely order that again. However, the stuffed grilled taco didn't impress me as much; I wasn't a fan of the soggy tortilla chips that were wrapped inside (even though I ate it right away). The texture was unusual, and I expected more crunch, although the beef filling was tasty. The Potato Olés were great—crispy and enjoyable! The Mexican donut bites were a real highlight; they were soft and delicious. On the other hand, the fish taco didn't quite meet my expectations. The breading was soft instead of crispy, which made the taco fall apart and affected the overall flavor. Overall, it was a fun experience trying Taco John's, and I would definitely stop by again to explore more items on the menu next time.
I've visited this restaurant several times, but today I felt compelled to share my thoughts. I absolutely love Taco John's bowl! It rivals the bowls from Qdoba and Taco Bell. If you're looking for a cost-effective option with a unique flavor, Taco John's is a great alternative here in Wilmer, and in some ways, it might even be better than the other two. The customer service is outstanding—everyone is friendly, the place is clean, and the atmosphere is amazing. I truly appreciate the effort they put into taking care of their customers.
I come about once a week and they always do fantastic. Food is great too.
Five hot sauces for six tacos and two potatoes just isn’t enough. I’m not sure why the sauces are consistently limited when we visit, but we always end up with fewer than we need. The food is great, and the staff is always friendly.
