If you're a fan of hawkers cuisine and miss the luxury of this food when you travel overseas to Asian destinations, hawkers allows you to revisit the delicious nostalgia. Don't expect fancy fine dining or 5 star service. Traditionally, this place is all about value for money, quick eating and great use of small spaces. What Crawford Armstrong doesn't like about Sarawak Hawker Cuisine:
very authentic sarawak eat! if I didn't mistake, they made kampua, but the current menu has just kolo mee, which is quite similar anyway. their standards are always there, oh and I have always enjoyed their buttermilk huhn rice. general portions of food at a very affordable price. Quick, simple dining place with a good variety of hawker food choices. Meals are decent and and great value for money. Food is also takeaway friendly and food still tastes as good as dining in. Highlights from this place are the Buttermilk Chicken Rice, Kolo Mee ExtraSpecial and Braised Pork Belly Noodles/Rice. Service is alright and place can get a bit stuffy when it's packed. Hence, sometimes it's better to opt for takeaway during peak periods.
The food here is amazing! Meals are big, hearty and packed full of flavour. Pretty authentic and has a similar style to the food you'd get from a Malaysian hawker. Definitely a good bang for your buck.
Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Parking: Free at Southlands Atmosphere: simple takeaway feel Would I come back? yes If you are wanting quick, cheap, but decent asian food this seems to be the place! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal The water cups seemed a bit unclean so was hesistant to use them Dont expect a nice venue, go for the food! I thoroughly enjoyed my noodles and will be back
Yum! We ordered kolo mee extra special, Sarawak laksa, tofu with oyster sauce and pork, and shiitake chicken noodles. Kolo mee was delicious with bouncy noodles, with a bit more dark soy sauce than what I'm used to. Sarawak laksa was flavourful and not sickening at all. Chicken noodles had flavoursome shiitake pieces, and were okay but overshadowed by the kolo mee. Oyster sauce pork tofu was a bit of a letdown, the tofu came submerged in oyster sauce, which was too runny so it couldn't stick on to the tofu very well. For drinks we had teh C special, ribena sprite, soy milk cincau (grass jelly), and hot lemon tea, all were tasty, but I highly recommend the soy milk cincau. Love the "homey" atmosphere befitting of serving local Southeast Asian fare. Everything is self service, again very typical to many Asian eateries. Great value for money, we were struggling to finish the huge portions. I wish I lived nearby because I can definitely see myself frequenting this place.

Expect to be full with a $10 meal all inclusive with complimentary self-serve soup. My partner and I enjoyed this very much.
