Very dissapoiting visit to Makom: ordered Hamshuka for a whopping 19 euros, they serve the dish without pita bread or spicy sauce. Both would cost an extra 6 euros. The Hummus was flat tasting, could use more lemon, garlic and salt. The minced meat was more like sugo bolognese... eggplant dish was bathed in tomato sauce, kneifah was dry , without the customary rosewater. At the end they also extra charged us for a large mineral water bottle which we did not order.
I expected more from the food because I had read several good reviews. When we got our food, it was okay, but nothing special. I was expecting some kind of “wow” effect, but they didn’t really deliver. The pita bread was dry and didn’t feel like proper pita bread at all. Honestly, I could make better bread at home. The chicken tasted like it had been prepared in advance and then simply reheated. It had that typical pre-made taste. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the ambiance was very nice. I would give them another chance.
