A pleasant ambience with a great view, this restaurant surely can't fail. So if the adjoining motel was half full, where did they all go to dine? Not here. I feel very bad writing a poor review when Whyalla has been in the doldrums since the bankruptcy of Arrium, but there is no excuse for poor meals unless the chef has been taken ill and the housemaid has taken over. Hubby had to teach waiter/barman how to make a martini. Our long pined-for Cofffin Bay oysters arrived WASHED of all flavour with browned & blackened bits of salad mix as garnish. The battered fish was still gluggy with uncooked flour. I've blanked out the rest. And my favourite gripe : why serve Aioli when it tastes just like commercial mayo. Buy a better brand, one that actually tastes of garlic and lemon.Sorry.
