**Restaurant Review: A Mixed Bag of Experiences** Nestled in Whyalla, this pub offers a blend of experiences, from friendly bar staff to notable live music. While some diners have enjoyed the warm atmosphere, consistently fresh food, and excellent service, others have faced disappointing meals and unexpected policies regarding dogs in the outdoor space. The lunch menu, though limited, features well-prepared dishes that leave a positive impression. Despite its mix of highs and lows, the venue retains a nostalgic charm that keeps some patrons returning. However, inconsistent service and food quality remain pivotal factors influencing overall impressions of the establishment.

What Melanie Robinson dislikes about Spencer:
Do not recommend this place at all. We are travelling Australia and like most travelling Aussie have dogs, (small very well behaved dogs). Went for lunch today. Used to be my place to hangout so to speak 40ish years ago, so I was keen to see how much it had changed. It is a lot quieter than it used to be, the old bar we drank is closed down. But the atmosphere is still warm and friendly, the music is still tops. The lunch menu is very limited but it was very nice, everything was cooked just right. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back for sure. Service: 4
I would say one of the worst pubs we have visited on our travels and we have travelled over 3 quarters of Australia, encountering some awesome pubs along the way. Maybe if the staff were a bit more friendly and welcoming, it would have been an okay experience. Service: 2

Given that there was only 1 person in the whole pub (inside or out beside us), they could have at least let us finish our drinks before we left.
