Four of us ate here and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I was thrilled when I began to order and was told they had a separate Gluten Free menu as I am a medically diagnosed Coeliac. View all feedback.

There is not a great eating selection in Whyalla, but the Eyre Hotel having been re novated and run by one of the oldest hotel families in SA seemed a logical choice. Yes it is pub food, but good quality pub food We had fish and a porterhouse steak. Everyone enjoyed and said they would go back. The eating area is pleasant, the staff answered any questions and the food was delivered on time. Also a reasonable drinks list.

A good variety of food choices on the menu and some nice wines to choose from. Bowls options were good based with options to add meat, tofu,... Service was good, atmosphere: modern pub!
Tender beef schnitzel with nice crumb (huge), well dressed salad chips and a nicely battered single serve fish with chips salad (same as schnitzel). Friendly staff food delivered promptly. Thank you Hotel Eyre for a very pleasant Sunday lunch.
We stayed for two nights but wouldn't stay there again. The pub is good, with excellent meals and a nice atmosphere. The rooms are quite small, which wasn't surprising for but are reasonably comfortable. The main problem was the dirty bathroom. The shower especially...was filthy. When the room was made up after the first night, no new towels were provided, yet the dirty floor mat was put on top of the old towels to dry. The cleaners don't seem to have much concept of cleanliness! To get fresh towels, since there was nobody at the front desk, involved foraging for them in a storage area...
