You can’t beat the location, and the inn is charming. We prefer boutique hotels to traditional bed breakfasts, and the Farmhouse Inn is a nice combo of both. All of the following work well for us, yet you should know and be prepared for the these things, which aren’t for everyone: there is no lobby or staff onsite; you’ll get a code to access exterior and interior doors; there is no daily housekeeping. What Esther P doesn't like about The Farmhouse Inn Kitchen:
Not once, but TWICE, my family and I made a special trip out of the way to try this seemingly adorable little restaurant. Both times it was in their open hours and google maps said they were open. Both times we were met with a locked door and completely dark restaurant. I think we would really enjoy this place if we could ever catch it open. Unfortunately we won 't go out of our way again. Very poor experience. While the location is close to everything, its also close to the train tracks so I awakened throughout the night EVEN with a white noise machine. The mattress compresses down to a pack of cards and the bed is VERY short. The room is right out a NYC hotel room as in tiny...there is no way it could accommodate more than one person. There is not comfortable place to sit. The owners were unresponsive to questions and they did not event serve breakfast. After booking they mentioned I had to eat elsewhere. The wifi directions were incorrect. The walls are thin, I could hear the couple across the hall. And finally the only parking spaces are under a tree that drops sap on your vehicle. Wonderful!

There are a few hooks on the wall but no closet (in Room 2), so pack so you can live out of your suitcase or use the bench in the room to store your clothes on. Parking is free and right out back. The food at the restaurant is really good! However, the restaurant is not open on Sundays or Mondays, so plan ahead. There are plenty of good breakfast options in Whitefish.

This place looks good but it is not open yet. They said it will be a couple months and it is late September.
