Capt. Submarine - WHITBOURNE
Capt. Submarine
Description
Captain Submarine’s customer experience is marred by long waits and inattentive service, with guests often feeling overlooked despite low traffic. Orders can take upwards of 30 minutes, and staff appear disorganized, sometimes neglecting simple courtesies or order accuracy. The food quality is inconsistent, with salads described as sparse and lacking dressing, and online ordering plagued by glitches causing missing ingredients. On a positive note, some staff members show patience and offer helpful suggestions. However, improvements in efficiency, communication, and order fulfillment are essential to transform the overall atmosphere and customer satisfaction.

Very nice young man serving. Offered suggestions when asked. Patient. Made 2 good subs. Tried the on line app. After 3 tries, I completed my order, but as I had two subs, the info on the second sub disappeared at checkout. So I ordered my 2nd oneseparately. Of the 3 veggies I ordered, I received only tomatoes. No spinach, no onion even though I checked at the cash beforepaying...... No more online orders for me. Still had to wait in the ordering line anyway.
I visited Captain Submarine for the first time, and it was hands down the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Although I made eye contact with three employees while waiting, it took a full ten minutes before a woman finally came out to take my order. After I placed my order, she went to the back to see if anyone else wanted to make my sub, but I overheard several people decline. Ultimately, she made the sub herself, which took another 15 minutes. Then, she moved on to prepare my salad, which somehow took another 10 minutes. To my disappointment, the salad had no toppings—just lettuce and chicken. By that point, I was so frustrated I decided against saying anything; I just wanted to get out of there. When I reached my car, I realized they hadn’t included any sauce for my salad. I was the only customer at the time, and with just a sub and a salad, I ended up spending 35 minutes in the restaurant. This place has terrible customer service and an overall unpleasant atmosphere.
We arrived at 5 PM on Monday, April 19th, expecting the dinner service to be in full swing. Unfortunately, we found ourselves waiting without any service, despite being there for quite some time. At the drive-thru window next to the "order here" sign, a woman was occupied chatting on her phone, seemingly oblivious to our presence. We made eye contact with a young man outside on two occasions, but still, no one attended to us. Even a simple acknowledgment like, “I’ll be with you shortly,” would have made a difference, yet it felt as though we were completely overlooked. Given this level of inattentiveness from the staff, I’m actually relieved we didn’t get the chance to try their food!
This restaurant is not good at all! The sub I ordered was dry and impossible to eat. Honestly, I would recommend going to Subway, which is just down the street. I cannot recommend Captain Sub whatsoever.
