However, the service can be a bit disorganized at times, although the staff is friendly. One of our four entrees was delayed, which puts a damper on the evening.

The chicken sandwich and Morgan o... read more We really enjoy The Cafe; the burger was delicious, but unfortunately, our experience this evening was somewhat disappointing. The chicken sandwich and Morgan oysters lacked flavor, which was surprising given the variety of ingredients. In fact, the chicken sandwich was particularly strange, having more breading and condiments than actual chicken. Additionally, for reasons that are unclear, despite having made a reservation early (before 5 PM), the hostess attempted to seat us in the crowded bar area instead of the nearly empty fireplace or window sections. She even frowned when I politely asked her to reconsider. Both of those areas were still more than half empty when we left. Overall, it wasn't the relaxing and enjoyable outing we usually have, but we're willing to give it another try.

Server was friendly and respectful, however he got very busy and we waited a long time to pay our bill. Overall, a superb restaurant. Will be going back soon.

The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. The food and drinks are always great. We are in atleast a few times a month. When we sit at the bar the service is great. However the last two times we have sat at a table our waiter was very inattentive . He did not come back to check on us or notice that our drinks were empty. He seemed very iuninterested in ensuring we were happy. However the bus girls were very efficient always filling our water and clearing the table

We started out with the cheese and dry aged meats for an app. Nice assortment of meats, cheeses, olives and spreads with artisan crackers. A fairly substantial app.For meals, we had the boneless short ribs and braised lamb tacos. Both were excellent, in particular the short ribs.We wrapped up splitting the toffee bread pudding. More of a cake/brownie heated and served with ice cream. Also excellent.More upscale pricing than which is appropriate. Very much a Portland ME restaurant vibe. Definately added to the list of regulars.
