The Ricarton Inn - West Currie

Located on the Lanark Road in Currie, The Riccarton Inn is a pleasant traditional pub and restaurant serving a pleasing range of real ales, whiskies and gins. The restaurant lists a wide range of British dishes. I recommend the cullen skink as a starter this is a smoked haddock and potato soup in a creamy base. I chose the steak and mushroom pie, veggies and chips! followed by two scoops of dairy ice cream, and coffee. This was washed down with a bottle of Italian white wine. The total cost was much less than I would have paid in the city, and I left totally satisfied

Food lovely, service very good considering how busy the place was. Very noisy as had table in the bar, difficulty hearing conversation at times. It’s alway quieter in the restaurant area. Would specify restaurant area next time

Great quality, honest to goodness god in a friendly setting

First of all .. it's the Riccarton Inn and NOT the Ricarton Inn. Leaving that small point aside..They were helpful and flexible in that they provided coffee first thing in the morning at very reasonable cost whilst they obviously would normally be preparing for lunch service.Lunch itself was freshly cooked and tasty. Only tiny quibble would be that the fish and chips were put on top of the mushy peas and slice of lemon and initially obscured them .. we'd happily return
