This place is phenomenal. The owners are so kind and the food was amazing. They came and talked to us and made sure we were okay. The sushi was fresh and flavorful. The steak was seasoned well and seared perfectly. No complaints from me, I'm a huge fan. View all feedback.
What Rae N doesn't like about Sushi Monk:
Moved to Madeira. Website should tell you they have no alcohol license or soda fountain yet. Food average but prices off the chart. About 40-50% higher than other sushi around. $5 extra to make a tiny cup of steamed rice into fried rice? $9 for a small dessert still frozen (likely from costco)?$12 for 2 small sushi pieces? We could have gone to a fancy steakhouse for the bill we got and we didn't have drinks. Slow se... View all feedback.
They have the best food (and dessert) !! They make all the customers feel like family. This is our favorite go-to for a date night out!

There’s both table and bar seating, and we chose to sit at the bar, which was entertaining as we watched the chef prepare the rolls. He made a dish that he torched with a blowtorch, which I definitely plan to order next time because it had jalapeños and looked absolutely delicious. The roll selection is good, albeit limited, and they also offer sashimi. I tried the eel, and it was fantastic. This place is a great spot for high-quality sushi, whether you want a quick bite or a leisurely meal.
When we called to address the issue, I was informed that I had ordered a shrimp roll. After insisting that they check, we discovered that they had mistakenly substituted the shrimp roll for the Tempura and even acknowledged their mistake. I requested that they deliver the shrimp tempura, but I was told I would have to drive to pick it up instead. My wife, who was particularly looking forward to the shrimp tempura, took the phone and was transferred to the manager (perhaps the owner?). When she asked for home delivery due to our self-quarantine situation, he hung up on her. I understand that this is a difficult time for restaurants, and for older individuals like myself, who have congestive heart failure and are making every effort to stay healthy. However, #SUSHIMONK has now been crossed off our list. I should also mention that our order totaled $84.00, minus a $10.00 discount from Grubhub. When I spend that kind of money on a meal—without even ordering any alcoholic beverages—I expect better service and a friendlier attitude.
