In Erinnerung an alte Zeiten hatte ich vor zwei Tagen einen Tisch zum Abendessen reserviert - man empfahl mir vor 19 Uhr zu kommen, da dann eine "größere " Grup... read more In Erinnerung an alte Zeiten hatte ich vor zwei Tagen einen Tisch zum Abendessen reserviert - man empfahl mir vor 19 Uhr zu kommen, da dann eine "größere " Gruppe zum Abendessen käme.Also fand ich mich mit meiner Begleitung um halb sechs in einem leeren Restaurant ein ! Erstaunt war ich über die eher kleine " Vesperkarte " mit einigen Vor - und Hauptspeisen - bestellte mir dann passend zur Jahreszeit Spargel mit Kartoffeln ! Unglaublich was man mir vorsetzte : alte Kartoffeln mit braunen Stellen und hölzernen verkochten Spargel - als ich die Kellnerin darauf aufmerksam machte , meinte sie nur: " das sieht ja wirklich nicht schön aus - ich bringe Ihnen neue Kartoffeln !"Zehn Minuten später : der Spargel und die gereichte Sauce waren kalt ... Ich finde es bedauerlich , dass wohl nach dem Wechsel des Besitzers dieses Restaurant auf ein solches Niveau gesunken ist ! Spargel und Kartoffeln sind ja wohl keine Kunst !

They also asked whether I preferred to check in using a self-service kiosk or in person at the nearby Erbenhof. I opted for in-person check-in. The biggest challenge initially was finding a parking space. Once that was sorted, we walked about 400 meters to the Erbenhof check-in area. There, we received a very friendly welcome and all the necessary information about our room. We were able to easily add a parking space at Alt Weimar for €12. The bill was settled immediately, and we were informed that breakfast wasn 't offered at the hotel itself, but that we could have it at the Erbenhof for €18. The room was clean, tidy, and equipped with everything we needed – we were very satisfied. The location was particularly convenient: the city center is about a 10-minute walk away, which was ideal for our visit to the Christmas market. ' ... Checkout the next morning was also straightforward, as the key and parking remote could simply remain in the room.

However, for an inexpensive single room, you need to be fit enough to climb stairs.
