Atlantic Coast Cafe - Waves
Atlantic Coast Cafe
Description
Nestled in the heart of the Outer Banks, this restaurant has garnered mixed reactions from diners. While many rave about the exceptional quality and freshness of the food, particularly the seafood dishes like the fried mahi and fish tacos, others express concerns over rising prices and inconsistent breakfast offerings. The casual atmosphere and friendly staff have won over repeat visitors, making it a family favorite. However, a few patrons have pointed out the awkward ordering process and underwhelming breakfast items. Overall, the restaurant remains a popular destination for lunch and dinner, with a strong emphasis on flavorful, well-portioned meals.

First time there this past June, so good! Recommend by my cousin and her hubby and they were right. Blackened mahi mahi was amazing and the fish tacos...
Great atmosphere and great food! We stayed directly across the street for our vacation and walked over daily for smoothies and the club sandwich. ...
Solid delicious food in the OBX. Ordered the Fried Mahi and fries with coleslaw. Everything hot, crisp with good size portions. My wife could not finish her blackened Mahi dinner as there was too much food for her. Highly recommend if ur nearby
Informal, no frills place with friendly staff. You order at the counter and they bring it to you. Came for lunch, but were astonished that the fried fish of the day (Mahi-Mahi) was quite a delight. The Mahi is semi-mild and sweet tasting. It just goes to show that with fresh right off the boat fish delivered to the restaurant, it is wonderful regardless of the hierarchy of the establishment! Enjoyed our late September lunch and will certainly return!
