Everything about this hotel screams meh. Ok rooms, relatively clean, run of the mill breakfast...with one exception Working out is hard when you 're on the road. And most hotel fitness centers are one room with a broken treadmill and 20 pounds of weights. Instead This hotel gives you a free pass to Francks Gym an absolute top notch facility a mile down the road. What a huge difference! I 'll stay here every time I 'm... View all feedback.
What Tara W doesn't like about La Quinta Inn Wausau:
I have stayed here a several times and have enjoyed my stay. On this visit I was put in a room along the road and a security light shined in my room and made it hard to sleep even with the curtains. Picture included that I took at 3:00am to show how bright it was. These lights should face straight up instead of how they currently are. The following week I stayed again and just requested to not be along the road and i... View all feedback.
When it comes to a place to stay... I am all about cleanliness and I felt that this location was very clean- Great budget roadside hotel to stay at

Cheap, clean, friendly close to the mountain. Meet all requirements. Our room wasn 't anything fancy but it was clean and spacious. For a smaller town this was an acceptable place to stay. Just a tip: when they say 'double bed ' it 's not quite a full bed size. it was a tight fit for 2 people so if you plan on sharing make sure you like the person. The breakfast was toast, muffins, fruit, cereal and waffles. Plenty to fill up on before we hit the slopes. All the staff were really nice and very helpful. This location did have a pool, we didn 't go in, but the pool was quite small, nothing a kid can cannonball into. But there was also a fair sized hot tub there also. They don 't have an elevator to what we saw, 2nd floor rooms with a center staircase. So if you have trouble with stairs ask for a 1st floor room. Weekend rate was $65 per room per night, reasonable when you can put 1-4 people in a room. I was happy with my experience.
I went skiing this weekend and I just wanted a decent place to hold my things. LA Quinta has really cheap rates. I bought a double for $72 a night. After skiing, I was so tired and sore, so I went to their pool. The pool is warm. Even though I didn't dip my body in, my muscles relaxed in the room. Breakfast was included. They had the essentials. So that was good enough for me. Staff was also really friendly.
The restaurant is very clean and all the rooms have been updated. The staff is friendly, and if you're visiting someone in the hospital, they offer a discount.
