I wished I had a Chinese-speaking friend with me—perhaps then the owner might have smiled my way. Nonetheless, I came for the food, thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and left satisfied. I especially loved the freshly made crispy bread and butter they served as a starter while we waited for our mains. The wonton soup was wonderfully warm and perfectly balanced in flavor, and the egg drop soup was rich and delicious. They also offered tea alongside small dishes of duck sauce to complement the appetizers and sides. The hot chili was excellent too—full of flavor without being oily.

The portions were generous, the food was fresh, and the flavors were wonderfully complex. The delightful owner offered exceptional service, enhancing the overall experience. It's a lovely restaurant that clearly has many loyal customers. Be sure to try the spicy tofu!

While the food is outstanding, I can't see myself returning after such a negative service experience in an almost empty establishment.
