The Chopped Leaf - Waterloo

I’ve ordered delivery from this restaurant several times, and it’s usually quite good. However, I do wonder whether the utensils labeled as made from plant starch are actually compostable, or if they are just single-use plastic that’s marketed to feel better about using. During my most recent order, the avocado was extremely overripe, which was quite unappetizing. Despite that, the rest of the food was excellent and our previous experiences have been very positive, so I’m likely to order again. I’ll just keep an eye on the avocados to see if they continue to be a problem; if so, I might have to avoid them.

We were looking for a healthy lunch in the area, and we are so glad we found The Chopped Leaf! The salads are super fresh and flavourful and priced reasonably. I chose a create your own salad and think this will be my new go to salad! (Spring mix,Falafel, red pepper, Cucumbers, Carrot, Goddess dressing, Feta). Staff are very friendly too. The only feedback is that it isvery cold inside, we had to put on our jackets to stay warm while we ate.

The food here is excellent, with a wide variety of vegetarian options! I really appreciate the unique combinations offered. However, the tofu could use a bit more seasoning as it tastes somewhat bland. The restaurant is clean and offers plenty of free parking. It has a bright and welcoming atmosphere with ample seating. The portion sizes are quite generous. We would certainly come back!

There was a lack of actual management support to help correct any behaviors, and while the managers frequently use their phones for personal reasons, doing so yourself—even for just a moment—could lead to immediate termination. The company seems to prioritize favorable customer reviews over the well-being of its employees. The owner, Laura Oliveira, is hardly ever in the store, as she is preoccupied with running another business—Grocery Garden—that she shouldn't be involved with, which detracts from her focus on the main company. Additionally, the cleanliness of the store is lacking, with flies frequently landing on food items, yet Laura does nothing to address these issues. If you're considering working here, be prepared to feel undervalued and possibly be expected to manage everything on your own, as the main manager does very little. Good luck!

This location is by far the best! The lady who has worked here for years is amazing with customer service. Great food, and always talks to you while waiting for your takeout! Nice touch! This I can?t way for boardwalk location.
