What Michael Bridges likes about Selam:
Absolutely wonderful food! My nephew and I stopped by for dinner before attending a 9pm set at Twins Jazz. We ate at the bar watched a little soccer and chatted with the bartender who was very friendly. She explained each dish and took our picture. I had the combination platter with chicken and my nephew had the vegetarian combination platter. The servings were both delicious and filling. If you want some really good... View all feedback. What Nai C doesn't like about Selam:
Our food was Delicious and the chef reminds me so much of my own father. They do need to print new menus to reflect the new pricing but that's minor. Well the portion of Chicken Tesebhi Dorho wasn't as much as I'm used to having but the flavor was perfect for where we were at. View all feedback.

read moreThis quaint Eritrean restaurant has been receiving mixed reviews on various aspects. The food has received praise for being delicious and authentic, with the portions being described as filling and satisfying. However, some customers have mentioned that the menu is small and the prices are high considering the quality. The ambiance and decor are not impressive, but the warm and friendly staff have been highlighted as a major positive. Overall, if you are looking for tasty Eritrean cuisine in a casual setting, this family-owned gem might be worth a visit for a unique dining experience.

read moreExcellent food and cute elderly proprietor, like he is your Grandpa - don't expect your food to be quick, he cooks it fresh when you order it.
Super authentic, small spot. Don't expect anyone to be able to speak english. Get the Chef's special, he'll hook you up.
This is my favorite spot in DC to go for a delicious meal without all the hassle that you get in other restaurants.
