This is such an amazing place. The staff is so customer friendly. There was a problem that was already resolved before I even knew it existed. The staff is personable, professional, and timely. The wine selection is extensive. But the atmosphere, I think takes the cake. Such a beautiful facility. It is intimate and laid out well. The performance tonight was phenomenal. I wish we had a City Winery in Kansas. View all feedback.
What LaShunda G doesn't like about City Winery Dc Barrel Room Restaurant Wine Bar:
We went last night to see Lyfe Jennings and it was great, food too but short staffed but our waiter DJ was very patient even though the chef was super backed up he kept coming to see if we needed anything. But the venue was nice. There is one thing I didn't like though ???? we got to our table at 6:45pm and we couldn't order food at all, so we had to go downstairs to eat after Lyfe finished singing. My first time here and the venue is very nice. I got here as soon as the doors opened. The venue was very clean and welcoming. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also gave me warning about when to order food. They suggested that I order as early as possible. I found out why. Food service to the table was horrible. The menu is accessed by QR code and initially I did not see any food options. I was told the food must not have been added for the evening yet. Huh? Really?!?! I was able to order a drink that arrived promptly. It was good. Later on the food was on the menu. The offerings were extremely limited and I did not see anything that appealed to me. However, we had great seats near the stage and Miki Howard was phenomenal.

First, the good… to see a show here is top notch. Every seat is close and it has a very interment feel. Acoustics are decent… I have nothing, but good things to say about the concert venue. The not so good is all about the service and food. Twice, we were brought a bottle of wine that we did not order. I had to show the server my phone to show her what the order should be. You can only order through the app, which isn’t a bad thing, to minimize the conversation while watching a concert. However, our drink order was not correct twice and the wait for food was 45 minutes after we placed our order. There is not a lot to choose from on the menu if you are looking for typical appetizers, you will not find them here. An average chicken sandwich with fries, was $18. The fries were very good though, but the sandwich was average, at best. The fries came out lukewarm, but the sandwich was hot. If you are going to a show, my recommendation would be to eat elsewhere before, but the show experience is awesome.
This place was NICE inside. It is a cool space and I've never heard of it before. The wines they sampled were not the best BUT it was fun to taste them. I went for an event. Would revisit just because though. It's an interesting place.
We reserved a two person hightop near the bar (there were only two of us and we didn 't want to share a table since the pandemic is still a thing). I wasn 't sure what to expect, but there wasn 't a ton of bar traffic to bother us and we had a great view and breathing room. We weren 't too far back at all. I was really happy with our spot. The drinks we got were STRONG but good. As soon as we went to order food, the kitchen turned the food off to catch up with orders. We had planned to eat before the show and sip our drinks while watching but ended up having to wait until well into the show to order, which was a little annoying. I totally understand why they did it, but I think I 'd rather have ordered and then waited ages (though that 's just me). Also, we 'd looked at the menu online before going only to find out the menu was different when we actually got there. We were super looking forward to a s 'mores dessert but instead they had a strawberry one, so just keep an eye out for that! That being said, our server was great and let us know the second food came back up (this would have been a 4 star review if service hadn 't been absolutely perfect, and honestly everyone working looked like they were having fun, which was awesome and a great atmosphere). And once we did get the food, it was pretty good. We tried a seasonal salad, the parmesan fries, and the chocolate dessert mousse. Everything was fresh and delicious and the concert ended up being just a super chill and enjoyable experience.I 'd totally go back for another concert and do the hightop table again, we had a great night and a lot of fun (once I wasn 't hangry anymore).
