Feedback
Cafe Riggs offers a chic and classy atmosphere with a mixed bag of reviews. Some find the food lacking seasoning and the service below average, while others rave about the delicious options and exceptional service. The restaurant's reservation process is criticized as overdue, but the overall experience is praised as a must-visit spot. Dishes like croque modern with brioche and ribeye receive high marks, while sweet potato gnocchi falls short for some. Despite varied opinions, many guests plan to return for the great vibes, excellent food, and top-notch service at this Washington DC establishment.
The food and ambience were very nice. The service was very poor. Our waitress had very poor English speaking and comprehension skills which made ordering very difficult. We received our side dish just as we finished our entree. The worst part was receiving a bill for over $100 more than it should have been and that charge has yet to be taken off my credit card account. I do understand the difficulty in getting good help, but this server had no business in a customer facing position. Reflected very poorly on a very nice restaurant.
I found Cafe Riggs while looking through Open Table and took a chance. I had the croque modern with a over easy egg. It was made from brioche and had Parisian ham. It was rich but delicious.
The service at this restaurant was below average. Our server was not very attentive and seemed indifferent to whether we had water or not. She mistakenly filled our cups with sparkling water instead of flat. I do not recommend this place and I will not be returning. It was not worth the money.
The restaurant is good and a very pleasant place to have a meal. The reservation process was overdue, the requirement for a credit card deposit was overwhelmed with notifications when the arrival was appropriate, how long we could be in the restaurant, and demands that we do not check unit the entire party of four was not there. Guest feel welcome and do not appreciate so much.
