Nestled in Washington D.C., this bakery-café prioritizes flavor but grapples with inconsistent service. Diners rave about the delightful array of pastries, including the tiramisu choux à la crème and chocolate salted caramel tart, which are beautifully crafted and not overly sweet. While the food impresses, customers report frustrating experiences with order fulfillment and a lack of communication about item availability. Despite some negative encounters with staff attitudes, the consistently praised food quality and appealing drinks—especially the golden milk—draw patrons back for more. With potential for improvement, this eatery remains a popular destination for delicious creations.

Was Anonym at Souk a mag?
by souk with a friend, and we both loved the golden milk in any case the best I had everywhere. super toasty, beautiful and spicy, and just the right amount of sweet. will definitely come back! View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Souk:
pretty rude service. not sure why? she approached the window (outside) and person standing in 10 yards screamed at you to put up masks. was strange. croissant was super dry and looked old. but how can coffee be warm? Unfortunately, I've gone, otherwise I'd return the coffee. 9.45 clock and they serve warm coffee? View all feedback.

When they order from souk, they can expect delicious food. that's it. before they are too excited about eating, just knowing that this delicious food is unlikely what they wanted or intended to order. what they find out when they order is that this place has a secret menu and the pictures on the window are only there to let them know that they have experience cooking. in no way does the menu reflect exactly the actual eating available in the load. oh and as a bonus the person who serves them will probably have a terrible setting and treat them like a nusiance. there will be no apology for the unavailable items and no geduld while they choose alternatives. it's probably best to just stay away.

I would give this place 5 stars if it was just for the food/drinks, but today's service was pretty bad. I made an order at 9:50am for a 10:40am pick up and when I arrived at 10:40 they had not started my order of 2 drinks, 6 pastries and 1 breakfast sandwich. It took 40 minutes for me to get my full order. If I had known they do not regularly check their online orders I would have arrived much earlier. Their online system also listed some items out of stock that were not and vice versa.
