Feedback
Bantam King, a halal ramen restaurant in DC, offers a unique twist on traditional ramen by featuring chicken-based dishes. Diners appreciate the vibrant atmosphere, reminiscent of a Japanese anime cafeteria, and commend the friendly, efficient service. While the spicy miso ramen receives praise for its rich umami flavors, some feel the noodles could be softer and the overall ramen lacking authenticity. The fried chicken is a standout, with options like Nashville and Curry Snow plates impressing guests. Be mindful of potential bone hazards and service fees. Overall, Bantam King provides a casual dining experience perfect for before or after events at the nearby Capital One Arena.
Watch out for this Ramen restaurant. I was enjoying my meal until I bit into a sharp bone that hurt my mouth. Eat slowly and be cautious! When I showed it to the server, they simply apologized and still charged me as if nothing had happened. And to top it off, they added a 20% service fee, possibly for the bone incident. This is not the kind of customer service you would expect in America.
This restaurant has more of a diner or fast food atmosphere with plastic bench seating. Surprisingly, they offer both fried chicken and ramen on their menu. I would suggest trying their fried chicken over the ramen since the ramen portions are a bit small. The Nashville Fried Chicken plate and Curry Snow Fried Chicken plate are both delicious options.
I was very pleased with the food at this restaurant. The flavors were fantastic. The only downside was the 20% mandatory service fee added to the bill, which includes tips for the service. I believe this is unfair, as tipping should be a customer's choice as a token of appreciation. The restaurant is changing the traditional meaning of tipping. Both Bantam King and their sister restaurant mention a 20% service fee on their menus, with the option to remove or adjust it at the customer's discretion. However, Bantam King did not honor this and forced the fee on customers.
