Was Ben at Shogun a mag?
Now I am a born and bred New Englander and I usually take issue with being seated with strangers. This experience changed nothing. However, the skill of the chef mixed together with the blinding flames of the onion volcano and the alcohol infused drink, captivated my senses. It was indeed a good show! What Matt B dislikes about Shogun:
We visited Shogun for a birthday celebration and unfortunately, it was not a great experience. Firstly, the ventilation was an issue, as there was a lot of smoke during our visit. Additionally, the air conditioning did not effectively cool the room, making it uncomfortable for us. Lastly, it seemed they were short on hibachi chefs; we waited about an hour from being seated to when the chef finally came to our table t... View all feedback.

Soli is the man but you have to get lucky to have him as your chef. There seems to be a shortage of Japanese Hibachi chefs. The last three times my wife and I have been to Shogun, we had an Anglo Saxon chef twice and this past weekend, we had a black chef. I have absolutely no problem with who is our chef as long as they can cook. IMHO, A lot of hibachi cooking is getting the different seasonings to blend together nicely and these three chefs did a wretched job. At each visit, the amount of salt that was used was ridiculous. It literally ruined each meal. Our blood pressure must have increased to dangerous levels. Portions were also in inconsistent with each visit. We are willing to drive the 45 minutes it takes for us to get to Shogun but I’m going to stay away the rest of this year. I really think Soli needs to retrain these guys big time.

However, the skill of the chef mixed together with the blinding flames of the onion volcano and the alcohol infused drink, captivated my senses. It was indeed a good show! Our chef, though being white, displayed coordination and skill such as only can be described as pretty fly for a white guy. Our daughter was captivated and it was almost more enjoyable to watch her reaction to the man who flipped an egg off his spatula and caught it in his hat. It was my first time at a hibachi and it won't be my last.

We come here often and have our usual favorite chefs (Soli and Simon . This month Elijah was our chef at our most recent visit and he was outstanding. Sandy the waitress was the best waitress I've EVER had! See you guys soon :

First, I have to say that I am a well seasoned restaurant industry worker. I have experience w/hibachi and all that is expected when going to such a place My husband and I are meeting family to celebrate a birthday. As we walk in I can hardly see. It 's so beyond smokey . Makes me wonder how safe is the ventilation. On top, they have carpet. That 's gross. Carpet in a restaurant is a terrible idea.Picture to show the food debris. Our server was subpar. The chef was doing his best w/a stand up comedian approach. I 've never seen shrimp cut up like that.No vegetable toss.No Sake.Only vegetables were onion and zucchini. Bean sprouts on request.Price was too high.Total disappointment.
