The Square Peg stands out for its consistently excellent food and attentive service, making it a culinary favorite among locals. Patrons rave about standout dishes such as deep-fried pickles, burgers, and shrimp tacos, with desserts crafted by the owner's mother receiving particular acclaim. The vibrant atmosphere is enhanced by friendly bartenders and a lively crowd, although some guests note that noise levels can rise during peak times. While the restaurant’s high prices and limited takeout options on busy weekends draw some criticism, the overall experience leaves diners eager to return for more delightful meals.

I visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening and it was very busy. I was told there was a 1/2 hour wait, but ended up sitting in about 20 minutes. The hostess was friendly and the rest of the staff was also friendly and attentive. The drinks were somewhat weak and the prices were average. The fish sandwich and fish tacos were large, but the chicken quesadillas lacked taste. The bang bang shrimp and spinach dip were fantastic. I will definitely return in the future.

I was thrilled to discover this hidden gem! Everything from the food, service, staff, and ambiance was exceptional. This restaurant is definitely now one of my favorites. I tried the loaded brussel sprouts with bacon, goat cheese, and pickled red onions - delicious!

My friend ordered us both the fish tacos. I was hesitant about the tortillas, but decided to follow their recommendation. I also tried the sweet potato fries, which I was not expecting to enjoy, but they were surprisingly delicious. The fish tacos were the best I've ever had and I would definitely order them again. The mac and cheese was even better than homemade. The fish was cooked perfectly once I removed the taco shell. The drinks were good and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was great and it was a fantastic value. I will definitely be returning to try more items from their tempting menu.

Finally found the time to go and it was well worth it. Showed up a bit after they opened, and beat the crowd, as by the time we left the place was packed. Food and drinks were amazing, prices fair(total for 2 meals, app, 3 mixed drinks and tip around $90)considering the food and drinks(highly recommend the apple mule) were top notch. I'm generally a fan of trying new things orspecials you dont normally see, so we tried the loaded Brussel sprouts, and they were amazing. I usually do not like any kind ofonions, but the pickled onion strips on the plate went well with the flavors of the Brussel sprout, bacon, and goat cheese. Formeals we ordered the apple prosciutto brie sandwich and the chicken queso birria tacos. Both were delicious, with the fries thatcame with the sandwich an unexpected hit(fluffy inside, crunchy flavorful outside). As the restaurant is pretty small, I can seewhy many people have told us the wait can be very long, but I would say, if you can beat the rush, or don't mind the wait, thisis for sure a place worth the visit!

I gave them 5 stars after last 3 visits but I decided took 2 stars from it because of a poor service today. I went there with my 6 years old son for lunch and there was no table available so we sat at the bar. My son felt uncomfortable so I asked my serverto give us next available table. She said yes but never came back and gave next open table to people who came after us. Westayed at the bar until we leave. We bump into my friends with two kids who came after us. They ordered foods after us and theserver gave them foods. I asked when our foods would be served. She said she would check and didn't come back to let us know it.I had to go to her to ask when our foods would be served. Then they said some excuses. I think they messed up the order. Andgave us foods after taking for a while. She didn't apologize for it. I know they were busy because it was crowded on electionday. But they didn't care young children and costumers. After my previous three tries, I had given them 5 stars, but aftertoday's bad service, I chose to deduct 2 points. Our first time visiting thisrestaurant. First of all, I'm puzzled as to why I didn't arrive sooner than today. Second, I really enjoyed the interior'scombination of black and a dark oak tree color. Finally, I really enjoy the cuisine. There were so many items on the menu thatmy husband and I wanted to try that it was difficult to decide what we ordered. We selected fish and chips, bang bang shrimp, and spinach and artichoke dip. Every meal we received was excellent. I particularly like the Bang Bang Shrimp. My server told methe recipe after I inquired about the bang bang sauce the chef makes. Without a doubt, I'll give it a try at home. Iadditionally desired to test Frozen pineapple cocktails next time as I couldn't have it because of my headache today.
