Singburi - Waltham Forest
Singburi
Description
Singburi's offers a mixed culinary experience highlighting both highs and lows. While some dishes like chicken chow mein and pork in red curry paste impressed with their flavors, others like the green chicken curry and red snapper curry fell short. Additionally, issues with spiciness levels, oiliness, and service have been noted by diners. The cash-only payment policy and inconsistent treatment of customers have raised concerns. However, those who managed to secure a table were rewarded with incredible, authentic Thai cuisine from the specials board. With improvements in consistency and service, Singburi has the potential to charm more patrons seeking a taste of Thailand in the UK.

-very homey atmosphere -service is very bad, the elderly women is very rude. -don’t answer phone call for booking -the food is cook to match British ppl taste, the food isn’t spice at all and some of the soup is more creamy cause they probably add more coconut milk.
It's a big fat yes from me! This is not a modern chic West end restaurant, it's local feeling, chilled, family style. The plates don't match and no-one fills up your water, but so what? The food is great and if you're really in to food and not aesthetics, come here, cash in hand and get stuck in. A group of 3 is perfect, order tonnes, and share everything. I'd say their curries are not their strong point, but the pork bean stir fry, the clams, the moo krab, the pork fat cabbage and the morning glory were all excellent. Can't wait to come back!
I had a good time at Singburi but I won’t go back in a hurry. The food is above average and reasonably authentic, but the red curry lacked flavour and salt the delivery of mae ploy curry paste midway through our meal might be related… The aubergine and holy basil stir fry was very good though and my favourite dish overall. It’s a nice family run restaurant with a casual atmosphere. On to the bad stuff service was terrible, we were a table of 2 and first to be seated but it took over an hour for any of our food to come and we were the last ones served. We were about to leave but the food arrived just before we stood up. By this time they had run out of one of the menu items we ordered which was disappointing. We also ordered 2 portions of coconut rice for £9 which came in a single smallish bowl complete rip off for the amount you get. Overall the prices have noticeably gone up quite a lot in the last year and now I’m not convinced it’s amazing value anymore. Coupled with the terrible service and use of branded curry pastes I don’t see a reason to go back
