Murphys Law Irish - Waitakere
Murphys Law Irish
Description
Nestled near the Pukekohe/Drury off ramp, this pub is a corner favorite offering a vibrant atmosphere, friendly staff, and a blend of Irish charm. While many diners rave about classic dishes like tender steaks and pizzas, experiences are inconsistent. Some meals arrive late, lacking freshness or seasoning, leading to disappointment. The ambience is enhanced by vintage decor and background music, making it a great spot to unwind. Overall, it's a commendable choice for those seeking a casual meal or a lively night out, though diners are advised to set realistic expectations for their culinary adventure.

We were passing through and stopped in for lunch today. What a lovely pub. Very cool atmosphere and authentic decor. The service was good. I had a plain janr burger and chips and was happy with my meal. The burger had a nice homemade pattie, cheese, tomato, lettuce, beetroot, pickles, onion. The chips were huge. My husband had the sirloin steak meal. It looked so good but he said it was only just warm and the mash was so so salty. The steak was quite good.
We used the camping grounds for 2 nights. We found it perfect for us, great showers, clean toilets, basic kitchen, safe and secure, highly recommended. We will definitely be back. Having the hotel next door was a bonus, great menu, great food awesome hospitality.
This used to be our regular go-to for a good Irish meal. A small group of us (11) ordered together and we asked that it all came out together. 3 meals delivered after 10 minutes and the remainder was 35 minutes after that. The food was no where up to previous experiences and the steak was well overcooked. Other people at the table talked of chicken similar to the sole of a shoe. Definitely won't be back. Price per person: $40–50
Average experience. We ordered a half and a full rack of ribs. Both came out looking identical, spoke to one of the staff members there and he said the chefs definitely gave us the half and a full. Like how ridiculous to try make us believe something that has the same amount of food on either plate is not true. Funny enough i counted the left over bones and surprisingly they were the same.... And to top if off no more than 10 chips are allowed on each plate. Yeah this place will be a definite pass.
Stayed many nights at the motorhome. Very convenient, and 35 dollars/night is a fair price. Cleaning lady is doing a great job at keeping the facilities up to standard, and she is also very friendly. Showers are good. Food is hit and miss. I had the best fish and chips here of my entire NZ trip, but also the worst. It all depends on which chef is working the kitchen at the moment. Nachos are OK, pie is OK. All of the bar staff are great! Highly recommend this place if you need a place to stay, a beer to drink, or a plate of food.
