Contribute FeedbackThe Cracking Crab restaurant in Polzeath has received mixed reviews from customers. Some have been disappointed by the high prices and lackluster portions, feeling that the Al A Carte prices did not match the dining experience. However, others have praised the beautiful setting, friendly staff, and delicious seafood options. Despite the mixed feedback, many guests are looking forward to returning to the Cracking Crab for another meal by the sea.
It was a great meal, but VERY expensive for a beachside cafe.
A really lovely return trip to the Cracking CrAb. A warm welcome, friendly staff, good service , and menu choices. Food nicely cooked and presented , with no delays. We will be back!
Down for a week in polzeath again... we decided to eat out at the cracking crab ,it's setting is superb, sky ,sea, and surf !all that was missing was the sun !!,but that's Cornwall for you .its decor is relaxed colour full and friendly .we had popcorn shrimps to start ,then a casulet of scallops beans and chorizo, for me ,hake for him. The food is good but not cheap ,we had a great meal then walked down the cliff path back to polzeath beach . Will go again
We had a fantastic time celebrating a birthday dinner at this restaurant and cannot wait to return. We were able to park for free on the beach after 4pm and easily followed the signs along the coastal path, which was only a 5-minute flat walk. The atmosphere at The Cracking Crab was fun and laid back, and the decor reminded us of the crab shacks we visited in San Francisco. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was just right - not rushed at all. This restaurant has become our new favorite spot, so make sure to check it out if you can.
Took two friends out for a treat not knowing what to expect. Poor start as had to pay £4 to park, greeted well and surprised by the decor, which is a glorified cafe and sat in uncomfortable chairs and ordered drinks which were extortionate but looked forward to our meals. This was also a great disappointment, although tasted nice but meagre portions for the price, especially as we shared a small dish of vegetables for four. My dessert was a chocolate orange cheese cake with alcohol in a tiny glass jar priced £6.95, this was merely a biscuit base with whipped cream of no flavour topped with Chocolate sauce. The prices are Al A Carte without the experience, we are locals and we'll never go back again as we felt totally ripped off.
